Ultimaker filaments, professional-grade 3D printing materials for all applications

Ultimaker is a renowned brand in the 3D printing world. Producer of either professional 3D printers and engineering-grade tested filaments, it can fulfill almost any 3D printing need. The Ultimaker team firmly believes that materials are critical to the success of a print. Thus, they have developed open-system 3D printers and own-brand, high-performance filaments tailored to a wide range of applications, providing you with a wide material choice. Their open-material policy lets you benefit from either standard and advanced polymers. Whether you are producing functional parts or daily objects, you will surely find the Ultimaker filament that best caters to your needs.

Some of the Ultimaker filaments have been produced in collaboration with professional material brands, including ASF, DSM, and DuPont. The consumable offering includes tough, flexible, water-soluble, flame retardant, impact and chemical resistant products.

Ultimaker’s material lineup includes PLA and Tough PLA polymers, ABS, Nylon, Ultimaker CPE and CPE +, PC, PP, TPU 95A, PVA and Breakaway.

The Ultimaker PLA series is characterized by ease of printing, stiffness, translucency, and strength. They are available in a broad selection of colors. Tough PLA is the strongest filament of the series. Ultimaker ABS is tough and strong. Like the PLA consumables, it is available in multiple colors. Another tough filament surely is Ultimaker Nylon, a wear-resistant, translucent consumable with a low friction rate. Ultimaker CPE and CPE+ feature high strength and translucency. CPE plus provides a higher level of heat resistance. Both filaments are available in a variety of shades. Ultimaker PC is a specialty 3D printing material. It is stiff, strong, heat resistant and flame retardant. Ultimaker PP and TPU 95A are flexible and wear-resistant filaments. TPU is the tougher of the two. Ultimaker also produces a couple of support materials, namely the water-soluble PVA and the easy-to-remove Breakaway.

Ultimaker material specs

The broad range of Ultimaker 3D printing materials gives you great design flexibility. The company provides pre-set print profiles for both proprietary and third-party filaments. In this way, you can benefit from a streamlined 3D printing experience while increasing your print success rate. When printing with one of the Ultimaker 2 printers, you will find most of these settings directly on the machine. Multilingual technical and data sheets provide you with some useful information related to the material properties and printing settings.

Most Ultimaker filaments have a diameter of 2.85 mm (with tolerances), while TPU 95A has a size of 2.90mm. They are supplied in spools of different net weight (350g, 500g, 700g and 750g). All Ultimaker 3D printing devices, namely Ultimaker 2, Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker S series, can print with a filament size of approximately 2.85 mm.
