Gmax 3D printers, think it big and build it bigger.
Fed up with splitting their 3D models into smaller parts, in 2012 gCreate team produced its first large format desktop 3D printer, the gMax. Their main focus was on creating a device able to produce any 3D project without size limit. Since the launch of the first gMax kit, gCreate has been constantly developing, upgrading and optimizing its cutting-edge machines allowing anyone to print larger objects of any dimensions within a huge print area. That’s why it is now selling some of the top large format printers available for sale on the market.
The first gMax was made with parts printed using a RepRap printer. This means that the users had the chance to upgrade it simply printing custom enhancements on their own. Same is for the latest gMax 3D printers - the gMax 1.5+, the gMax 1.5 XT+ and the gMax 2 - that have all been designed for self-modifications and on-demand customizations. It’s no wonder that there are many DIY gMax clones around, just like the Graco gMax 2 replica.
gMax 3D printer specs
Each gMax new edition is an evolution of the previous ones. The latest model, the gMax 2, is an upgrade of the gMax 1.5 XT plus. The two share some common features such as the sturdy aluminum frame, filament runout sensor - available as an add-on for the XT plus -, self-leveling system, all-metal hotends and high compatibility with a wide range of filaments. In addition, the gMax 2 features a bigger build volume of 457x457x609mm and some extras. Indeed, it includes a printer-controlled heated bed, instead of the dual-zone heated plate with a standalone controller available in the gMax 1.5 XT+, and a linear motion system.
All gMax models include an LCD screen and SD card reader which enable wireless printing. Their single extrusion module can be easily disassembled and replaced with a dual extruder and a bunch of functioning tool heads. These upgrades will make your own gMax a versatile workhorse of 3D printing.
gMax 3D printers print smoothly and quietly just after unboxing. Their setup and installation are extremely easy, you will encounter no particular issue while starting them up. According to the countless reviews, you can barely hear a gMax printer when it is running.
