Sense 2 is a handheld laser 3D scanner able to capture full-color images. It is an upgraded version of the original Sense model from Cubify. Like the predecessor, it is powered by structured light technology and an Intel RealSense sensor. It is a practical device with a simple UI, which makes it easy and fast to use. Scan accuracy

Sense 2 is a portable laser scanner that can scan objects at 1 mm resolution and close to 1 mm accuracy. The color resolution of 1920 x 1080 provides good color texture mapping. The depth sensor shows a 640 x 480-pixel resolution. It uses two different cameras, one to gather the shape and size of the objects, the other one to capture the colors. The two cameras allow capturing decent quality 3D scan data for prototyping and household. The automatic object recognition detects the product to scan ignoring the background. Sense 2 works well with people’s faces.

Scan volume

The generous scan area of 78 x 78 x 78 inches (200 x 200 x 200 cm) allows for 3D scanning of a variety of objects. Still, it lets you capture products as small as 20 x 20 x 20 cm.

Scanner controls

The scanner is controlled via any USB-tethered Windows device (Win 8 or above). 

The SENSE 3D software lets you export data to OBJ, WRL, STL, and PLY formats. It runs on Windows 8 or later OS. It allows the rapid editing and sharing of the captured images.
