Witbox 2 is an updated version of the Witbox FDM 3D printer from the Spanish BQ manufacturer. It is a convenient and reliable 3D printing machine, which operates as a plug-n-play device. Unlike its predecessor, the printer is equipped with a new double-drive extruder that provides optimal grip. The new extrusion system is based on two gearwheels that seamlessly feed the thread to the end of the hotend reducing clogging risks. It allows printing a great variety of filaments flawlessly. The extruder also features a new inductor sensor that auto-calibrates the print bed. To do that, it constantly measures the distance between the extruder and the print bed adjusting their position when needed. The machine prints with PLA, bronze, wood, copper, and flexible FilaFlex-type plastics. It has a decent build area of 297 x 210 x 200 mm. Its open-source nature makes it easily hackable. It has been used to print a wide variety of models, fashion embellishments and accessories. Read the complete review for further details.
For example, one user printed a wireframe Oscar statuette. The printer did an excellent job with its bridging.

The Witbox 2 is an FDM 3D printer that can print layers at 20 microns. This way you can produce parts with smooth exterior surfaces. The inductor sensor grants the correct positioning of both the extruder and the bed ensuring a rigorous calibration and high-precision results. When moving the bed to its correct position a small red LED will inform you. The branded BQ Zum CNC circuit board allows a more fluid movement of the motors and improves heat dissipation.

The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer.
Witbox 2 prints with PLA, wood, bronze, copper and FilaFlex and other materials.
The extruder comes with a fan for printing with PLA-type materials. By cooling the model down, it reduces warping, stringing and, generally, makes for higher quality prints.
Look at this dual-part, red and white mushroom lamp. It looks good enough and accurate.

The Witbox 2 is compatible with all types of third-party materials. It prints with a standard 1.75 mm filament, providing you with a wide choice of consumables.
The build area of 11.7 x 8.3 x 7.9 inches (297 x 210 x 200 mm) lets you print just about anything. You can even print a multi-parts, cool bag if you want to.
The printer can be controlled wither via PC or built-in LCD interface with a control knob. The new, intuitive, high-resolution LCD display provides a better user experience. The whole interface has been developed in-house by the BQ team.
3D models can be printed from a computer via USB or SD Card.
Thanks to its open-source nature, the printer is compatible with the main 3D printing slicers. You are free to choose the software you prefer among the well-known, commercial ones. The company recommends the use of Cura Software or Slic3r for optimal performances.
