The Flashforge Finder 3 is an entry-level FDM 3D printer designed for aspiring makers. The machine is ideal for students, allowing them to learn the basics of 3D printing and stimulating their creativity. The printer comes fully assembled and ready to use right out of the box. Compared to the predecessor, the Finder 2 model, the build volume has become fairly larger, with the footprint being even a bit smaller, and only the height has increased from 420 to 469 mm.
One of the most distinctive features of the Finder 3 is two build plates that come with the printer. The glass plate is already installed, and you can change it to the flexible PEI magnetic spring steel sheet which works great when it comes to printed part removal. The print bed heats up to 110 °C ensuring better stability while printing with ABS-like filaments.
Among other features of the Finder 3 are filament run-out detection and print resume function. If you are not completely satisfied with the first layer adhesion, you can make use of the assisted bed leveling and manually adjust the Z-axis, which is easy enough due to the clear instructions on the screen. Another useful utility is the extruder lamp allowing to light up the model being printed.

The minimum layer height of the Flashforge Finder 3 is 100 microns, which provides decent surface quality and level of detail suitable for most consumer projects. The direct extruder is equipped with a 0.4 mm nozzle with a maximum temperature of 260 °C, which allows printing with most consumer and some engineering-grade filaments, including flexible materials, like TPU 95A.

Thanks to the maximum nozzle temperature of 260 °C and the heated print bed, the Finder 3 is compatible with a wide range of plastics, including PLA, ABS, HIPS, PETG, PETG PRO, etc. The device is not bound to printing with proprietary materials, so the user can choose from a large variety of third-party filaments.
The build volume of 190 x 195 x 200 mm allows creating fairly large parts, meeting most requirements of hobbyist printing. The choice of the build plate option, depending on your preferences and the filament being used, makes for proper adhesion and easy part removal.
The Finder 3 is operated via a 4.3" LCD touchscreen with a user-friendly interface and intuitive navigation. You can send the printing task to the machine using a USB stick or remotely via Wi-Fi. The printer also features 8 GB of internal storage.
Like other Flashforge 3D printers, the Finder 3 comes with the proprietary FlashPrint software which is compatible with a variety of file formats and provides a decent tool set both for beginners and experienced users. If you need some specific functions, you can use third-party slicers, like Cura or Simplify3D.
