ATOS ScanBox Series is an optical 3D coordinate measuring machine produced by GOM. It is available in eleven different versions for different part sizes and uses. It has been developed for efficient quality control and inspection in production and manufacturing workflow. The models currently available are: ATOS ScanBox Series 4, Series 5, Series 6 standard and new, Series 7, Series 8, and ATOS ScanBox BPS. All of them are characterized by a compact design which requires low space for the installation.
Based on optical 3D coordinate measuring systems, they are able to detect surface deviations, GD&T, trimming and hole positions. The heart of the systems is the ATOS 3D scanner, which is able to measure and return full-field coordinates and high detailed reproductions for each measurement. Each ScanBox is a complete system that includes all the hardware, the ATOS Professional software, and the Virtual Measuring Room module, which allows operating the devices without the need for particular programming skills.
ATOS ScanBox Series is certified according to the machinery directive. It has a sturdy, wear-resistant construction that ensures standardized quality and performance, as well as kinematics reliability. It is faster than the traditional tactile CMM, working at twice the speed. Read the review to learn more.
ATOS ScanBox Series is an optical 3D coordinate measuring machine. The integrated ATOS sensors allow capturing up to 16 million measuring points in less than 2 seconds. Each version provides professional image resolution and a high level of detail. They are capable of measuring minute details with extreme accuracy, including locking hooks and catches for injection-molded elements.
Each ATOS ScanBox Series features a specific measuring volume. The Series 4 allows measuring small complex parts up to 500mm in size, while the series 5 enables mobile measurement of part up to 2,000 mm. The standard Series 6 can measure parts of up 3,000mm while the new version allows capturing larger parts up to 3,500mm in size. Both the Series 7 and 8 are capable of measuring big components of 6,000mm. The ATOS ScanBox BPS enables full-field digitization of a batch of products up to 500mm in height.
The scanner is controlled via the built-in Kiosk interface. This special user interface enables simple operation and control of any ScanBox model.
The machine comes with the company Professional software and the Virtual Measuring room module. The VMR is the core control station and measurement planning software for the ScanBox Series. It provides a virtual simulation of all the robot movements before execution. Professional software manages the measuring process. It allows automatically performing and checking the whole procedure. After collecting the data, it computes the polygon mesh of captured surfaces and the data of the inspection feature plan. Then, it compares actual data with nominal data and provides a detailed report.
