The Powerspec Ultra 3D is a copy of FlashForge Creator Pro 3D printer, which in turn is a low-cost alternative to the Makerbot Replicator 2X. The Powerspec Ultra 3D printer is equipped with an enclosed print chamber and a dual extruder. The device is made by Micro Center. It gives a decent balance between price and print quality.

The 3D printer has been used to print a wide range of models and prototypes. For example, one user printed the Ghost from the Destiny video game. It took four days to print all the parts and then have it assembled!

The PowerSpec Ultra 3D has a 0.4 mm nozzle. It gives you the best balance between speed and detail. Have a look at the model in the picture below! It was printed in ABS and then smoothed via vapour polishing with Acetone. As you can see, the shapes and lines are precise. The printer demonstrates excellent performance.

The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer.

Materials

PowerSpec Ultra 3D prints with ABS, PLA, PET, Nylon, Polycarbonate and other materials.
The extruder comes with a fan for printing with PLA-type materials. By cooling the model down, it reduces warping, stringing and, generally, makes for higher quality prints.
This model you can see in the picture was printed in Hatchbox grey PLA. The figures on top were printed by the Powerspec Ultra 3D with the layer height of 0.15mm using a 0.3mm nozzle.

Unlike many FDM printers, the PowerSpec Ultra 3D has a heated print bed and closed print chamber, which means it can reliably print with ABS-type materials. To see an example, have a look at this multi-coloured model. It was built in HIPS/ABS with a dual extruder.
