EinScan-Pro is a handheld 3D scanner based on structured light technology. Aimed at industrial use, it is a cost-effective, portable device able to deliver high-quality 3D outputs. It features a modular design for future expandability and four scan modes (Handheld HD scan, Handheld Rapid Scan, Fixed Scan with or without turntable). That’s why it can be used for several applications in a variety of industries.
The scanner operates at a consistent speed providing accurate results. The device delivers outputs compatible with third-party devices and software. It can be plugged into any 3D printer for rapid manufacturing and prototyping. It only weighs 0.8 kg for easy transportation and use.
The multi-functional add-ons, Industrial Pack and Color Pack, allows for advanced, high-resolution, full-color scans. Continue reading for a deeper review.
For example, the EinScan-Pro has been used by MyMiniFactory to 3D scan sculptures from the Faculty of Classics, University of Cambridge at the “Scan the World” event. The 3D data collected have been used to establish a 3D model database of such sculpts.
The detailed results provided are a great aid for custom-fit design, reverse engineering, and cataloging. For instance, one user 3D scanned a Subaru caliper for a rally Cuda project. Look at the final result.

EinScan-Pro is a handheld, professional 3D scanner. It is able to scan with an accuracy of up to 0.05mm. Each scan mode allows for getting different results. The Handheld HD Scan mode lets you perform a single 3D scan at 90,000 points/sec within 0.1 mm accuracy down to 0.2 mm point distance. It is mainly used for capturing items difficult to move and rich in detail such as sculptures and heavy parts. The Rapid mode enables fast scanning. It operates with a speed of 10 fps. As in the previous case, it is ideal for large models. The Fixed Scan Mode can be performed both with or without a turntable. The turntable included in the Industrial Pack withstands up to 5 kg. It is able to complete a 360° scan in just a few minutes. It is commonly used for small objects and artistic items. For medium objects, you can simply set the Fixed Scan Mode without using the turntable. In this way, you will be able to catch fine details at a high-accuracy of 0.05mm.
By adding the Color pack, you might also capture full-color textures and geometries, just like this Mario figure.
The scan area of 210×150 mm lets you capture objects ranging in size from 0.03m up to 4 meters. In case of transparent, highly reflective or dark items you might need to spray powder before scanning.
The scanner operates as a plug-and-play device. You’ll only have to connect it to your computer, complete the auto-setup and start scanning.
EinScan-Pro is packaged with the official EinScan software. Simple-to-use and install, it comfortably walks you through the scanning and editing process. It provides printable outputs, including watertight models, in a variety of formats compatible with the major 3D printers and CNC machines. It enables Cloud access for online file saving and sharing.
