Chiron is a large-bed FDM desktop 3D printer kit with a massive build area of 400 x 400 x 450 mm. It is easy to set up and operate. Its affordable price makes it ideal for 3D printing experts as well as beginners who want to get their feet wet in the 3D printing world.

The Chiron is equipped with a single extruder module characterized by a narrow path, which allows printing with flexible materials. The filament run-out sensor keeps track of material usage while the full-color TFT touch screen facilitates print management and operation. The fast-heating Ultrabase Pro bed is the printer killer feature. It ensures optimum print adhesion while facilitating print removal once cooled down. The bed is backed by a matrix 25-point automatic leveling and supports real-time adjustment and compensation of nozzle height.

Makers, educators and tinkerers have been using it to produce a wide set of 3D models, including toys, end-user tools and functional parts. Read on to find out more about the Chiron.

One user 3D printed an organic sculpted “Forest Scatter” terrain. With a 3D printer and some paint, it has come to life showing a great level of detail and definition.

The Top3DShop Chiron has a 0.4 mm nozzle, offering you the best balance between speed and detail.

This PLA-made dragon has been printed at a 0.2 mm layer height. Despite the low resolution and the visible layers, it shows a good amount of details and a great texture.

The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer. By assembling the printer, you will get a solid knowledge of the 3D printing process. This learning experience comes handy when replacing a part or upgrading the device.

Top3DShop Chiron prints with PLA, ABS, HIPS, PETG, Wood and TPU.

For example, this multi-part Iron Man’s helmet has been printed with PLA. Smooth and polished, it shows clean edges and high dimensional accuracy.

The Chiron comes stock with the Ultrabase PRO heated print bed, which makes it suitable for printing with ABS-type and temperature-sensitive materials. It also ensures an excellent grip without the risk of cracking when removing the print from the bed.
