The Vertex is a personal FDM 3D printer kit. It ships flatpack and needs to be assembled. The mounting process is enough straightforward. Just follow the manufacturer's instructions to get your job done in the most comfortable way. Once assembled, this reliable printer will be ready to produce accurate and clean printings. Its rigid, semi-closed case makes it firm and precise. It is fitted with a 3-point leveling tempered glass build platform with a Buildtak surface. It comes with a single extruder but supports a second optional one to expand its capability. The extrusion system features a built-in filament loading mechanism. The printer enables offline printing. You will be able to print your files directly from an SD card. The standalone printing gives you more control over the printing process. By assembling the printer from scratch, you will then be able to expand it at your convenience. Indeed, it is completely open-source and consents extreme customization to create perfect prints. It is used by makers and hobbyists to print a wide variety of models, including cosplay accessories, toys, decorations, and more. Let's review some additional features.

Print quality

The Vertex is an FDM 3D printer that can print layers at 100 microns. The surface finish is not as smooth as you get with the more expensive printers, but is more than enough for prototyping and household use. The direct drive extrusion mechanism grants reliable feeding and retraction of the filament, reducing nozzle clogging issues.

The Vertex comes with a single 0.35 mm nozzle, but it is engineered to support an additional one. The two nozzles are placed at 23.7mm distance. They feature an active cooling system and an individual heating indicator. Their standard diameter ensures the best balance between print speed and detail.

The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer. The Vertex adopts Iglidur® maintenance-free bearings for quiet operation and milled Z-axis to minimize Z-wobble.

To ensure high reproducibility, we recommend installing an enclosed print chamber or a closing door. This way the print quality would not be affected by temperature fluctuations as a result of drafts and other factors.
