The AON M2+ is an industrial FFF 3D printer boasting a build volume that is one of the largest in its class, as well as an impressive list of compatible materials including high-performance PEEK, PEKK, Ultem, and much more. The machine from the Canadian manufacturer AON3D was released in mid-2021, and in late 2022, the AON M2+ was certified to bear TÜV SÜD (C, US), CE, and RCM marks.
Being the fifth generation of AON3D industrial 3D printers, the M2+ features all the advantages of its predecessors, such as large build volume, high-temp printing, and, the most important, completely open material system with configurable printing parameters and ready-to-use manufacturer’s profiles both for proprietary and third-party filaments. Such freedom in material selection is the company’s vision for successful truly industrial 3D printing not only for prototyping, but for end-use parts volume manufacturing, where making the best out of material properties is the key factor.
New to the AON M2+ is the print bed that employs a vacuum system to hold interchangeable build plates. With a wide choice of build surfaces, the user is sure to get the best adhesion possible with any filament. The print bed can heat up to 200 °C and is equipped with an improved auto bed leveling function, which greatly adds to the build surface flatness, especially important for high-temp, large-scale printing.
Build plate options: 1 – PC; 2 – PEI; 3 – carbon fiber
Another improvement to the AON M2+ is its dual-extrusion system (IDEX), allowing you to double the production volume, print dual-material models, and use soluble filaments for building support structures.

One of the most distinctive features of the AON M2+ is excellent part quality with consistent properties, high crystallinity, and minimal porosity, due to precise thermal control of the actively heated 135 °C build chamber and full access to printing parameters. The dual extruder is equipped with 0.6 mm stainless steel nozzles heated to 500 °C, capable of printing with carbon and glass fiber composites. The hotends are equipped with an efficient water-cooling system.
Due to the selection of available build plates with ideal flatness, and precise thermal control, the AON M2+ can print without rafts, providing perfect first layer adhesion and high dimensional accuracy of the printed parts.

The AON M2+ provides one of the best selections of compatible materials, being able to print with almost any thermoplastic available in the market. The AON3D engineers constantly develop proprietary high-performance filaments as well as provide optimized material profiles for other brands’ thermoplastics, including Solvay, Sabic, Kimya, DSM, and Infinite Material Solutions.
The list of compatible filaments includes ABS, ASA, Nylon (PA6, 6/66, 12), PAEK, PC, PEEK, PEI (ULTEM 9085, 1010), PEKK, PETG, POM, PP, PPSU, PSU, PVDF, TPE, TPU, carbon fiber, glass fiber, kevlar, soluble and breakaway support materials. Models printed with high-performance thermoplastics feature various properties such as high mechanical strength, chemical and heat resistance, can be biocompatible and ESD safe.
The 450 x 450 x 565 mm build volume of the AON M2+ allows for industrial large-scale printing and batch manufacturing. The window in the printer’s door is smaller compared to the previous models, but this allows for better thermal control and stability of the print results.
The printer features Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity and is controlled via an LCD touchscreen with a clear and user-friendly interface. Remote operation is available via a web interface if a computer is on the same network as the printer.
AON3D does not develop proprietary software and recommends using the popular Simplify3D slicer, which has excellent functionality and is fully compatible with the M2+. The manufacturer provides material profiles that can be imported into Simplify3D.
