The BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR is a flame retardant composite filament combining the best properties of the most popular PC (polycarbonate) and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) engineering thermoplastics. The material is rated V0 according to the UL94 plastic flammability standard and can be used for highly demanding engineering applications. Parts printed with the Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR have superb mechanical properties and high thermal resistance alongside excellent aesthetic appearance. The filament allows for lower printing temperatures than pure PC and can be processed on most FFF 3D printers.
The recommended nozzle temperature for the Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR is 260–280 °C, and the temperature of the heated print bed is 90–110 °C. The printer should be equipped with a passively heated closed build chamber. You can use some adhesive material on a glass build plate to ensure successful first layer printing and avoid warpage.
Flame retardancy combined with outstanding mechanical characteristics allows for the use of the BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR in a lot of industries, including engineering, railway, automotive, and others. This thermoplastic is ideal for producing various electrical components, such as housing for handheld devices or power tools, plugs, and sockets.
The BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR 1.75 mm 3D printing filament is sold in 0.75 kg spools. It comes vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
