The Creality RaptorX is a professional hybrid 3D scanner combining two scanning technologies in a single device. Being the world’s first wireless 3-in-1 scanner, the RaptorX integrates an innovative combination of blue laser and infrared light sources with supplemental lighting for a wider range of applications. Scan accuracy

The Creality RaptorX boasts a high-performance structure with a 2.3MP 3D imaging camera, Ø20 mm large DoF lens, low distortion lens <5‰, 9-elements glass lens as well as metal lens barrel and holder. In addition, the RaptorX is engineered with good stability in high and low temperatures, which makes for reliable measurement and scanning results in any environment. Due to its advanced design, the scanner offers metrology-grade accuracy up to 0.02 mm at the high speed of 60 FPS (for blue laser line scanning) or 0.05 mm at 30 FPS (NIR mode).

Due to 12 circular LED texture lights, the RaptorX is great for 24-bit full-color scanning in all modes. This feature allows the device to enhance the brightness of color mapping in dark environments and present the true color of objects.

Another pleasant characteristic of the RaptorX model is its ability to scan black and metal objects without special sprays in all modes. Thus, one can easily scan cars, car parts, tires, and other black or metal objects to get the desired model effect.

Due to the strong environmental resistance of the blue laser light source, the RaptorX delivers outstanding performance even in outdoor environments. One can use 7-lines mode at ≤50,000 lux and 34-lines mode at ≤100,000 lux. In addition, the scanner comes with a large battery capacity of 35400 mWh (airplane safe) as well as fast charging capabilities (up to 80% in just 1.5 hours), which makes outdoor scanning more convenient and worry-free.

As for human scanning, the Creality RaptorX boasts the unique Face & Body algorithm that involves advanced mapping. Thanks to this innovation, the device captures more details including hair, while a whole human body scan only takes 2 minutes.

Equipped with innovative One-Shot 3D imaging technology, the Creality RaptorX is naturally stabilized and less likely to lose tracking. High backtracking speed ensures smoother handheld scanning.

Last but not least, the RaptorX model features a high-precision glass calibration board for smooth and effective accuracy calibration.

Scanning modes

Combining two technologies in one device, the Creality RaptorX offers three scanning modes. First, the scanner has two blue laser line scanning modes featuring 34 cross lines for quickly capturing medium to large objects and 7 parallel lines for partial HD scanning. The former comes with the enhanced laser line encoding and decoding algorithm, while the latter improves both the efficiency and detail of the captured scans. 

To effectively scan medium to large objects with reliable accuracy and impressive speed of 1,020,000 measurements/s at 60 FPS, it is recommended to use the 34 cross laser lines mode. This laser arrangement enables rapid and effortless capture of accurate 3D data of various complex objects. For example, one can scan a whole car in one go.

As for the 7 parallel laser lines mode, it is perfect for sharper edges and richer details with a single laser line as fine as 0.1 mm. The RaptorX is equipped with a 2.3MP 3D imaging camera capable of obtaining fine details with higher accuracy. This mode provides the scanning speed of 420,000 measurements/s at 60 FPS.

Finally, the RaptorX features NIR mode involving infrared binocular structured light scanning with the data capturing speed up to 3,580,000 measurements/s at 30 FPS. In NIR mode, no markers are needed for feature-rich workpieces that can be scanned quickly and directly. Also, thanks to the eye-safe light source, this mode allows one to efficiently and comfortably capture the human body and face.

The RaptorX model offers three alignment methods to choose from — namely, markers (for all modes), geometry and texture (NIR mode only).

Scan volume

The Creality RaptorX covers both near and far distance scanning. Combining blue line lasers with infrared structured light, the device is able to scan objects ranging in size from 5 x 5 x 5 to 4000 x 4000 x 4000 mm³ for blue laser line scanning (150 x 150 x 150 to 2000 x 2000 x 2000 mm³ for NIR mode), with the working distance standing at 150–400 mm for 7 lines, 200–600 mm for 34 lines, and 170–1200 mm for NIR mode.

With the RaptorX, one can effortlessly scan small figurines, engineering parts, molds, human bodies, faces, automobile components, and more with a constant level of precision and detail.

Scanner controls

The Creality RaptorX 3D scanner offers convenient and straightforward operation with its clear button interface for one-hand control. It only takes a few minutes to start the device in wired mode or connect it to Wi-Fi for wireless scanning.

For further user convenience, the RaptorX is equipped with a light indicator that provides real-time scanning status feedback, anti-slip sleeve, and detachable lanyard. Combined with its lightweight and portable design, these features ensure a smooth scanning experience and effectively reduce long-term work fatigue.

Software

The Creality RaptorX comes with the proprietary CrealityScan software featuring professional functionality, exceptional user-friendliness, and robust image and point cloud processing capabilities. Providing step-by-step tutorials, one-click model processing, and advanced editing features, it simplifies the scanning process from start to finish. Data input can be performed via TypeC and USB 3.0. In terms of output, the scanner supports the most common file formats, such as PLY, OBJ, and STL. 

The RaptorX model features wireless AX6000 data transmission redefining portability in 3D scanning. Engineered with an advanced lossless data compression algorithm, the RaptorX allows you to transfer scans quickly and easily over Wi-Fi 6 directly to your computer, with low latency up to 10 ms and transmission rate of up to 4.7 Gbps. In addition, the mirroring function enables real-time scanning from the phone.

Apart from the mentioned options, the scan data can be imported into popular 3D inspection and design software programs, such as Geomagic Control X, Geomagic Design X, and Verisurf Inspect with a single click. This seamless integration greatly improves the workflow efficiency with the RaptorX.
