The myCobot 320 M5Stack designed by the Chinese-based Elephant Robotics company belongs to the myCobot series of collaborative robotic arms. Alongside myCobot 320 Pi, the 320 M5Stack model is a more advanced and powerful version of the compact consumer myCobot 280 series.

myCobot 320 models have a maximum load capacity of 1 kg and a working radius of 320 mm. Due to high cost-efficiency and reliability, they can be used not only for educational and consumer applications, but also for commercial purposes, still being rather compact with the weight of 3 kg. myCobot 320 can work up to 8 hours continuously, and safely interacts with people thanks to its efficient collision detection algorithm. Both models are Linux-compatible, have built-in ROS and Python support, and feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. They are available in white or black color.

The Elephant Robotics myCobot 320 M5Stack is equipped with the ESP32-based M5Stack Basic module featuring a dual-core 240 MHz CPU, 520 KB SRAM, 16 MB of Flash memory, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The module sports a 2" color IPS-screen and three custom buttons. The end of the arm houses the ESP32-based M5Stack Atom development board with a 5 x 5 RGB LED matrix panel, additional GPIO pins, an IR sensor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, a programmable button, and a USB-C port. The arm end is equipped with a Lego-compatible connector that expands the cobot’s customization opportunities and allows for quick and easy installation of multiple end effectors, including grippers, suction pumps, sensors, cameras, and much more. You can also use screw threaded holes and M6 screws for end effector installation.

The base of myCobot 320 M5Stack is compatible with both Lego interface and M6 screw installation.

Processing quality

The brushless DC industrial motors of myCobot 320 M5Stack provide quick response and smooth rotation of the six joints with the repeatability of ±0.5 mm. This makes the cobot suitable for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications.

Robot controls

There are several ways of programming myCobot 320 M5Stack.

You can use the UIFlow visual programming software specially designed for M5Stack modules. It is based on Blockly graphical programming and Python coding methods. This is a great and simple way to make first steps in programming for beginners and kids.

For advanced users there is a support of RoboFlow software, designed by Elephant Robotics for industrial robots. It supports a lot of Arduino functional modules and the open source Robot Operating System (ROS).

Finally, like with myCobot 280 series, you can use the simplest drag-and-teach method to show the cobot the required succession of moves and record it.

The M5Stack Basic module is equipped with two USB Type-C ports, two microHDMI ports, a DC / IO interface, and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

Designed specially for myCobot series, myStudio software platform provides the user with firmware updates, video tutorials and use cases, and maintenance and repair assistance.
