The myPalletizer 260 M5Stack designed by the Chinese-based Elephant Robotics company is a compact and lightweight 4-axis robotic arm. Alongside myPalletizer 260 Pi, the device belongs to myPalletizer 260 series of 4-axis robotic arms, where 260 refers to the working range of the robot. Both modifications share the same mechanical construction and are equipped with the ESP32-based M5Stack Atom development board. The key difference between the two models is the mainboard they are based on, and, consequently, some variations in operation, capabilities, and application scenarios.

myPalletizer 260 is compact enough to fit into a backpack and weighs only 960 g. With the maximum load capacity of 250 grams, the working radius of 260 mm, and versatile operating tools, it provides endless possibilities for creative application scenarios anytime and anywhere. It is Linux-compatible, has built-in ROS and Python support, and features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet connectivity.

The Elephant Robotics myPalletizer 260 M5Stack is equipped with the ESP32-based M5Stack Basic module featuring a dual-core 240 MHz CPU, 520 KB SRAM, 16 MB of Flash memory, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The module sports a 2" color IPS-screen and three custom buttons. The end of the arm houses the ESP32-based M5Stack Atom development board with a 5 x 5 RGB LED matrix panel, additional GPIO pins, a Grove interface, a programmable button, a USB-C port, and a steering gear interface for the connection of some end effectors, such as an adaptive gripper. The arm end is equipped with a Lego-compatible connector that expands the cobot’s customization opportunities and allows for quick and easy installation of multiple end effectors, including grippers, suction pumps, sensors, cameras, and much more.

The Lego-compatible base of myPalletizer 260 M5Stack allows you to attach an optional flat or G-shaped base for enhanced stability.

Processing quality

Four high-performance servo motors of myPalletizer 260 M5Stack provide quick response and smooth rotation of the four joints with the repeatability of ±2 mm. The maximum joint rotating speed is 120°/s.

Robot controls

There are several ways of programming myPalletizer 260 M5Stack.

You can use the UIFlow visual programming software specially designed for M5Stack modules. It is based on Blockly graphical programming and Python coding methods. This is a great and simple way to make first steps in programming for beginners and kids.

For advanced users there is a support of RoboFlow software, designed by Elephant Robotics for industrial robots. It supports a lot of Arduino functional modules and the open source Robot Operating System (ROS).

Finally, you can use the drag-and-teach method to show the cobot the required succession of moves, simply leading it through the desired waypoints, and using the recording function.

The M5Stack Basic module is equipped with a USB Type-C port, a 20-pin GPIO interface, and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. 

myPalletizer 260 M5Stack has built-in myStudio software platform providing the user with firmware updates, video tutorials and use cases, and maintenance and repair assistance.
