The Intamsys Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO is an industrial FFF 3D printer engineered specifically for PAEK-class production and continuous manufacturing of high-performance polymer parts. The APOLLO targets full-range PAEK applications and supports PEEK, PEKK, PEEK-CF, and PEEK-GF for functional end-use components.

The machine combines a 450 °C dual-nozzle IDEX system with a 160 °C build plate and a 100 °C thermostatic chamber to deliver high Z-axis strength and dimensional stability at production speeds. For example, the APOLLO reaches up to 200 mm/s process speed for PAEK materials and achieves Z-tensile strength exceeding 40 MPa, which corresponds to roughly 2x higher Z-axis strength compared to standard PEEK printers.

For continuous production, the Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO integrates dual 3 kg active-dry filament boxes and the INTAMQuality™ traceability suite into the base system. The integrated dry boxes maintain up to 65 °C, monitor humidity in real time, and support week-long jobs without spool swaps, while INTAMQuality records process data, provides full part and material tracking, and uses RFID spool recognition for material validation.

The APOLLO addresses high-requirement applications in aerospace, aerostructures, robotics, and oil and gas where elevated temperatures, high loads, and demanding environments are standard requirements. INTAMSYS highlights aerospace PEEK parts that combine high strength and radiation resistance, PEKK aerostructure components with extremely high Z-strength and no post-processing, carbon-fiber-reinforced PEEK parts for robotics with ultra-high modulus, and PPS-GF components for oil and gas with high wear resistance and rigidity.

Compared with the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO, the APOLLO focuses on PAEK-optimized throughput and material range rather than general-purpose high-speed printing. The table below summarizes the key differences between the Intamsys and Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO.

Print quality

The Intamsys Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO delivers layer heights from 0.1–0.3 mm, XY resolution of 16 μm, and Z resolution of 1.25 μm while running PAEK materials at up to 200 mm/s with a maximum travel speed of 500 mm/s. The advanced motion control algorithms also imply intelligent speed prediction in combination with flow compensation technology, which prevents surface defects during high-speed printing.

The machine uses an independent dual-extruder (IDEX) architecture optimized for high-temperature processing and high Z-axis performance. The APOLLO runs two 450 °C hotends in an IDEX configuration that supports dual-material, dual-color, mirror, duplicate, and support-material modes without a prime tower, relying on auto-cleaning nozzles instead.

INTAMSUITE NEO controls the APOLLO through a multi-physics equilibrium approach that coordinates temperature, flow, and path planning. For example, the software performs coupled-field control, optimizes toolpaths for each geometry and material, and adapts process parameters in real time.

Materials

The Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO supports 35 validated engineering and high-performance polymers, including full PAEK coverage. The materials list includes PEEK, PEEK-CF, PEEK-GF, PEKK, SP5000, AM200, ABS+, ABS-GF, ABS-HS, ASA, HIPS, PA12-CF, PA6/66, PA6-CF, PC, PC-ABS, PC-FR, PC-PBT, PET-CF, PETG, PET-GF, PLA, PPA-CF, PPA-GF, PPS, PPS-CF, PPS-GF, PVA, SP3030, SP3050, SP5010, TPU95A, KIMYA ABS-ESD, BASF PC/ABS-FR, and WANHUA PA12.

The printer’s thermal envelope ensures stable processing of these materials under industrial conditions. For example, the APOLLO combines a 100 °C heated chamber, a 160 °C build plate, and 450 °C nozzles, which supports PEEK and PEKK parts that maintain mechanical performance under high temperature and load.

The integrated dual 3 kg active-dry boxes function as a production-grade material station. Each box holds up to 3 kg of filament, maintains drying temperatures up to 65 °C, uses reusable molecular sieves, and monitors temperature and humidity in real time to prevent hydrolysis and print defects in hygroscopic materials such as PEEK, PA, and PPA-CF.

Build volume

The Intamsys Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO provides a build volume that measures 305 x 260 x 260 mm in single-nozzle mode and 260 x 260 x 260 mm in dual-nozzle mode, which supports multi-part PAEK builds. The IDEX system combines this build space with mirror and duplicate modes to increase part throughput. For example, two identical PEEK brackets or mirrored fixtures print simultaneously within the 260 x 260 x 260 mm dual-nozzle envelope.

Printer controls and software

The Funmat Pro 310 APOLLO uses a 7" touch screen with an industrial HMI and full-process previews for job setup and control. The interface shows graphical job queues, path previews, and status indicators for chamber temperature, dry-box conditions, and material tracking.

Data input and networking rely on USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi, integrated into the INTAMSUITE software ecosystem. INTAMSUITE NEO handles slicing and process setup, while INTAMSUITE Local Print manages centralized job scheduling, remote monitoring, and full remote control from a single APOLLO up to a fleet of printers.

The APOLLO also includes a suite of reliability and safety functions directly linked to the controller. For example, the machine provides nozzle clogging alarms, platform over-temperature alarms, filament run-out detection, print recovery after power interruptions, remote monitoring, OTA firmware and software updates, and an electromagnetic safety door lock.
