The Intamsys Victrex AM™ 450 utilizes the renowned Victrex 450G PEEK polymer platform optimized for additive manufacturing applications. This semi-crystalline polyetheretherketone achieves tensile modulus values of 4000 MPa in injection molded form and 3000–4000 MPa in XY orientation during filament extrusion processing, according to Victrex datasheet specifications. The material demonstrates glass transition temperatures of 143 °C onset and 150 °C midpoint with a melting temperature of 343 °C.

The material exhibits exceptional thermal stability with deflection temperature under load reaching 152 °C at 1.8 MPa and maintaining mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Flexural stress values range from 125 MPa at room temperature down to 12.5 MPa at 275 °C, demonstrating retained performance across demanding temperature ranges. Chemical resistance properties include resistance to aggressive environments with low outgassing characteristics suitable for sterilization processes.

The Victrex AM™ 450 requires chamber temperatures not less than 150 °C with bed temperatures exceeding 150 °C for optimal crystallization and dimensional stability, according to Victrex processing guidelines. The material achieves water absorption values of 0.45% at saturation at 23 °C and 0.55% at 100 °C, maintaining dimensional stability in humid environments. The Victrex AM™ 450 filament meets NORSOK M710 compliance standards specifically designed for oil and gas industry applications requiring sour gas resistance and explosive decompression performance. Testing demonstrates resistance to 10% hydrogen sulfide exposure at temperatures up to 200 °C for extended durations.

Aerospace applications include high-temperature ducting, manifolds, and structural brackets requiring flame retardancy and chemical resistance. Oil and gas applications encompass valve seats, backup rings, and sealing components meeting NORSOK M710 subsea requirements. Medical applications utilize the material’s sterilization compatibility and chemical inertness for equipment housings and surgical instrument components. Automotive applications include under-hood components and transmission elements requiring sustained high-temperature performance.
