The Original Prusa MINI+ is a compact FDM 3D printer for beginners boasting exceptional print quality and ease of use. This replacement for the Prusa MINI features a new temperature-independent SuperPINDA sensor for more reliable automatic bed calibration, eliminating the need for recalibration between prints. Another upgrade over the original MINI model is Y-axis metal clips that make the kit version of the printer easier to assemble and provide slightly better support for the bearings.
You can purchase the Original Prusa MINI+ either as a DIY kit that needs assembling the printer from scratch, or as a semi-assembled version which only requires the user to connect the main printer parts together. The detailed assembly instruction for the kit version is available on the manufacturer’s website.
The printer is based on the Prusa Research custom-made 32-bit Buddy mainboard with TMC2209 silent stepper motor drivers, which allows for sensorless X and Y-axis homing, silent operation, and farmability. The machine has an open-frame design and is equipped with a Bowden extruder with 3:1 gear ratio.
Like the Original Prusa MINI, the MINI+ features a heated magnetic print bed with removable spring steel sheets of various textures for optimal print results with different filaments.

One of the key features of the Original Prusa MINI+ which sets it apart from the competitors is its exceptional print quality and reliable results. The machine can print layers with a minimum height of 50 microns and its Bowden-type extruder heats up to 280 °C, providing compatibility with most thermoplastics, except carbon fiber-filled filaments.

The Original Prusa MINI+ is compatible with a wide range of thermoplastics, such as PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PC, CPE, PVA/BVOH, PVB, HIPS, PP, Flex, nGen, Nylon, Woodfill, and others. The manufacturer develops its own filament line called Prusament, including various materials perfectly optimized for Prusa 3D printers. The user is free to use 1.75 mm filaments from any manufacturer.
This vase is printed with transparent Prusament PVB filament without post-processing.
The compact build volume of the Original Prusa MINI+ is 180 x 180 x 180 mm, which is fairly suitable for hobbyist or educational projects. Larger models can be printed in parts and then assembled.
The device is equipped with a 2.8" color graphic LCD, that is not touchscreen but operated with a control wheel. The UI is intuitive and convenient to use. Connectivity options include Ethernet and a USB slot. An ESP Wi-Fi module has been announced as an optional future upgrade.
The open-source PrusaSlicer software is feature-rich, easy-to-use, and perfectly compatible with Prusa 3D printers. It contains profiles for 250+ materials and many third-party 3D printers.
