The Raise3D Industrial PA12 CF+ is a composite filament based on Polyamide 612 and reinforced with 15% short carbon fibers with optimized length distribution. The filament combines best properties of both PA6 and PA12, such as high rigidity and reduced water uptake. With the addition of carbon fiber, the mechanical and thermal properties of Polyamide, as well as the finished part surface finish are significantly improved.
Due to its strong interlayer adhesion, high dimensional stability, and outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, the PA12 CF+ can be used as a lightweight metal substitute for functional end-use parts, such as jigs and fixtures, in automotive, aerospace, and other industries. The annealing in the oven at 80–100 °C for 8–12 hours further improves thermal and mechanical properties of the printed models.
To be sure of the final part quality, it is important to dry the material at 80 °C for 12 hours before printing. As the PA12 CF+ is an abrasive filament, the manufacturer recommends printing it on the Raise3D E2CF or RMF500 3D printers, specially designed to handle such materials. Using a hardened nozzle instead of a brass one is highly recommended. For better first layer adhesion, the manufacturer recommends spreading Magigoo PA glue over the build plate. The filament can be used as self-supporting material, in this case support structures should be removed after annealing. It is also compatible with PA12 CF Support and PVA+ support filaments.
The Raise3D Industrial PA12 CF+ 1.75 mm carbon fiber-reinforced filament is sold in 1 kg spools. It comes vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
