PRINCE775 and PRINCE335 are handheld 3D scanners produced by Scantech. Extremely efficient and accurate, they are capable of capturing a high level of detail using effective Class II, eye-safe laser triangulation technology. The PRINCE 3D scanner series features both standard red and hyperfine blue laser scanning modes. Depending on the scanning speed and resolution, the dual-laser source automatically sets the most suitable mode. Also, it can integrate the data captured using the two different modes into a single file.
Scantech PRINCE 3D scanners share some common features and specs. They both benefit from high resolution, efficiency, and adaptability. With an accuracy of up to 30 microns, they are capable of immediately detecting any small deviation. They always provide a real-time view of the scanned object, a killer-feature when scanning deep cavities or difficult-to-reach places. The PRINCE335 employs a 3 red laser crosses source with an extra red laser, while the PRINCE775 features 7 red laser crosses plus an extra line. Both models are engineered with 5 blue parallel laser lines dedicated to highly-detailed 3D scans.
The PRINCE335 can perform up to 265,000 measures/s in red mode and 320,000 measures/s in blue mode. The PRINCE775 features a higher scan speed of 480,000 measures/s in red mode and 320,000 measures/s in hyperfine blue mode.
PRINCE775 and PRINCE335 are widely used for reverse engineering, industrial design, quality inspection, 3D graphics, and more. They can capture small-to-large parts with high precision. This means you can scan a coin and a car with the same ease. Continue reading for a deeper review.
For example, a company used it to 3D scan a Morini motorcycle tank. They used both red and blue lights for capturing a higher level of detail.

PRINCE775 and PRINCE335 are handheld laser 3D scanners capable of capturing difficult-to-scan objects. Indeed, they are able to scan black and shiny surfaces under any light condition. The PRINCE775 can scan parts with a volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm+0.06mm/m in red mode and 0.01mm+0.06mm/m in blue mode. The PRINCE335 can capture parts with a volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm+0.08mm/m (red mode) and 0.01mm+0.08mm/m (blue mode). When paired with Scantech MSCAN photogrammetry system, they can reach a volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm+0.025mm/m (red mode) and 0.01mm+0.025mm/m (blue mode).
Both models have a resolution of 20 microns in blue mode and 50 microns in red mode. They feature a camera frame rate of 60 fps (red mode) and 120fps (blue mode).

The PRINCE 3D scanners are able to scan objects of almost any size. The work area ranges from 200 to 450mm (red mode) and from 100 to 200mm (blue mode).
The stand-off distance is 300mm in red mode and 150mm in blue mode. The depth of the field goes from 250mm (red mode) to 100 mm (blue mode).
The scanner features a Gigabit Lan interface for quick and easy operation. It can export the scanning data to a variety of formats (PLY, XYZ, DAE, FBX, MA, OBJ, ASC, STL, etc.).
The scanner works with ScanViewer, a free 3D scanning software available as a download on the Scantech website. It provides a variety of inspection and scanning functions, including Color map, Distance, and GD&T.
