Scantech TrackScan-SOLO and TrackScan-DUO 3D Scanners

TrackScan-SOLO and TrackScan-DUO are tracking 3D scanners jointly developed by the Metronor and Scantech companies. Eye-safe classified, these professional-grade laser devices have been made with military-grade carbon material. They rely on LED optical tracking technology, which enables timely camera tracking location through scanner initiative lighting. Thus, they ensure extreme durability, high stability, and great scanning precision.

TrackScan 3D scanner series combines both scanning and probing technology for both contact and non-contact high-precision measurement. Ideal for nondestructive testing, they don’t require the use of markers. Also, there is no need for camera calibration and preparation. TrackScan DUO is an upgraded version of the TrackScan-Solo. It adopts two M-tracker cameras instead of one. This makes for a wider measurement range and greater accuracy. Read on for further details.

Scan accuracy

TrackScan-SOLO and TrackScan-DUO are optical tracking 3D scanners with a resolution of 50 microns. They come integrated with a quick-change TrackProbe for contact measuring. The probe features a resolution of 1 micron. Their measurement rate is 480,000 measures/s.

The SOLO system offers an accuracy of up to 40 microns, which turns into 30 microns when using the TrackProbe. The DUO version benefits from a higher accuracy of 30 microns, which reaches up to 20 microns with the probe.

Scan volume

TrackScan-SOLO features a measurement range of 6m, while the TrackScan-DUO of 10 m. The probe works within an area of 15 m.

Both TrackScan scanners feature a stand-off distance of 300 mm and a depth of field of 250 mm.

Scanner controls

The scanners can be controlled via a USB-tethered computer. They include integrated control buttons for rapid operation. They can work within a temperature range of -10 °C to 45°C.

The scanner software provides a real-time preview of the 3D scan. It can generate 3D files in the most common formats (STL, STP, IGS, PLY, XYZ, DAE, OBJ, and ASC). The TrackProbe generates IGS files.
