The Sinterit Powder Separator is a cyclone-type accessory for the Sinterit ATEX Vacuum Cleaner — the powder collection and cleaning system compatible with the Lisa, Lisa Pro, Lisa X, and Nils 480 SLS 3D printers by Sinterit. The powder separator connects between the vacuum cleaner and the suction nozzle to separate reusable SLS powder from unusable dust before it enters the vacuum, preventing contamination and preserving material quality for the next print job.
When connected to the Sinterit ATEX Vacuum Cleaner, the powder separator uses cyclone separation to split the airflow into two streams: heavier reusable powder particles fall into a 12-liter metal collection container, while fine dust and debris continue through to the vacuum cleaner's internal filter. This two-stage process recovers clean powder in approximately 10 minutes from the printer's build chamber and deposits it into the separator's tank, ready for transfer to the Sinterit Powder Sieve for screening and refreshing.
The complete powder handling workflow with the Sinterit Cleaning System follows three steps: vacuuming (approximately 10 minutes to collect powder from the print chamber), sieving and powder refreshing (approximately 18 minutes through the Sinterit Powder Sieve), and mixing the sieved powder with fresh material as indicated by Sinterit Studio software. The result is 10 liters of recycled powder ready for the next print.
