Print quality

The AM3D Fast 500 SLM 3D printer can sinter layers with a minimum thickness of 20 micron that can be further adjusted to the user’s needs. Equipped with two or three fiber lasers as well as a powerful yet stable optical system with a maximum scanning speed of 10 m/s, the machine ensures high accuracy up to 0.05 mm, which results in richly detailed printed items.

With the Fast 500, you can create unique models of complex geometries unachievable with traditional materials and simplify the manufacturing process by directly printing your final design in metal instead of producing wax castings.

Materials

The AM3D Fast 500 SLM system works with a wide selection of metal powders with different properties that suit various applications. The machine is fully compatible with titanium, stainless steel, die steel, cobalt-chrome alloy, aluminum alloy, nickel alloy, etc. This lets the printer build both top-quality prototypes and end-use parts without any issues.

Build volume

The AM3D Fast 500 SLM 3D printer is engineered with an impressive forming space of 11.8 x 19.7 x 15.6 inches (300 x 500 x 400 mm). It lets one print fairly large items as a whole, without splitting them into several parts, or small to medium objects in batches. This makes for sufficient production speed and effective material usage.

Printer controls and software

The AM3D Fast 500 SLM 3D printer can be operated via an attached touch screen with a clear and user-friendly interface. Thanks to the built-in camera, operators are able to easily monitor the printing process without the risk of laser radiation and control the machine remotely.

The Fast 500 SLM system is supplied with the independently developed multifunctional FastFab software. Featuring a well-organized layout with various tools and parameters, it provides streamlined workflow, straightforward controls, and step-by-step operation throughout the whole 3D printing process. Overall, the FastFab allows the machine to be effortlessly set up in just 5–10 minutes.

In terms of slicing, the AM3D Fast 500 3D printer comes with the manufacturer’s FastLayer software solution created for dental and industrial precision design. The program provides a variety of tools for complete layout and path planning with a single click. It also contains printing parameter databases for various metal materials, self-developed precision parameter libraries for dental cobalt-chromium and titanium alloys, and 70+ customizable slicing parameters.

To improve user experience with the Fast 500, there are regular logs that record all printing process data for easy check-ups. In addition, one can boost print quality with the Help service by means of timely analysis and troubleshooting.
