The Bondtech DDX extruder is a powerful filament feeder based on the manufacturer’s proven BMG Mini Geared extruder. It is designed specially for Creality 3D printers and features all the benefits of Bondtech dual-drive technology. The latter ensures increased performance thanks to CNC-machined hardened steel drive gears for efficient material feeding and processing of abrasive materials. Combined with the original or industry-leading Slice Engineering Mosquito and Copperhead hotends, it significantly expands the capabilities of Creality machines.
Being a lightweight, reliable, and easy to install extrusion system, the Bondtech DDX boasts a gearing ratio of 3:1 making it a compact powerhouse for a wide scope of applications. It provides a perfect balance between speed for high-flow projects and precision with accurate retraction for tiny-nozzle, high-resolution parts. From rigid to super-flexible materials, the constrained filament path makes the DDX for Creality a great choice for upgrading your 3D printer.
The DDX extruder comes in two versions compatible with different Creality models (the appropriate one can be selected in the Add-ons and Extras menu). Each of them includes a dedicated adapter set. Please see the list below for all available options:
Adapter set for Creality Ender / CR-10(S):
Adapter set for Creality CR-10(S) Pro / Max:
Also, there are accessories available. The DDX hotend adapter is necessary to install hotends from Slice Engineering. The BLTouch mount is recommended to install the popular bed leveling sensor on the DDX (not compatible with the Ender-6 model). Both devices come in two versions engineered for Mosquito / Mosquito Magnum or Copperhead (w/ a screw mount heat sink) hotends.
Due to reliable design, enhanced performance, and high integration capabilities, the Bondtech DDX extruder will become a game-changing tool for the owners of Creality 3D printers, including hobbyist makers, corporate professionals, and full-blown manufacturers.
The Bondtech DDX is designed to expand the capabilities of Creality 3D printers by extending the range of supported materials, providing higher material flow, thinner layers, and flawless operation with wider nozzles. All these features lead to significantly increased print quality.
Thanks to Bondtech’s unique dual-drive technology, the DDX ensures uninterrupted filament flow without risk of grinding or slipping in even the most demanding conditions, with no damage to the thread. Due to the 3:1 gearing ratio, the device can cope with both high-resolution prints with small nozzles and high-flow projects with bigger ones providing remarkable pushing power and fast retractions.
To reduce the chance of filament misfeed at increased back-pressure, the filament path is fully guided throughout the extruder body, maintaining tight tolerances to the drive gears. The same goes for dealing with highly flexible filaments.
To make the DDX extruder as durable and reliable as possible, Bondtech uses the housing parts that are professionally SLS-printed with nylon for maximum strength, precision, and higher temperature resistance.
The DDX is fully compatible with the original hotend of each dedicated Creality model. Apart from this, the user can upgrade the system by using Slice Engineering Copperhead or Mosquito hotends. In some cases, it might require a specific adapter set.
Compared to the previous DDX versions, the current one (V3) is even easier in terms of installation. With an integrated fan shroud and mount, it is enough just to snap the fan to the shroud without using screws. To adjust the height of the shroud, it takes only one front access screw.
The extruder comes with everything one needs to start 3D printing right after receiving the package, including a dedicated adapter set, required tools and screws.
