The CreatBot ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is an engineering-grade 3D printing filament featuring high resistance to UV light and excellent weatherability. This thermoplastic is pretty similar to ABS and was designed as its alternative for use under harsh weather conditions. While ABS gradually degrades under direct sunlight, ASA parts retain their properties for a long time being exposed to UV light.
Due to its excellent mechanical properties, heat and UV resistance, and superior surface finish, ASA is an all-purpose material where outdoor applications play a leading role. The filament is suitable for manufacturing exterior car and motorcycle elements, outdoor electronic housings, outdoor signage, gardening tools, sporting goods, and more.
General printing tips for the Creatbot ASA filament are the same as for ABS material and include a heated print bed and enclosed build chamber, although ASA generally provides a smoother printing experience than ABS, and is less prone to warpage.
The recommended printing parameters for the CreatBot ASA filament are as follows:
The CreatBot ASA 1.75 mm filament is sold in 1 kg spools. It comes vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
