The Delta WASP 2040 Industrial X is a professional FDM 3D printer produced by WASP, an Italian-based company renowned for its high-end additive manufacturing solutions. Being an improved iteration of the Delta WASP 2040 Industrial 4.0, the machine boasts its fast printing speed and a dual gear filament driver alongside upgraded UI for a streamlined printing experience. The 2040 Industrial X has a heated build chamber that employs advanced hot and cold technology and can be heated up to 70°C. It features a sturdy structure made of aluminum and steel with polycarbonate and PU covers as well as employs metal carters that reduce vibrations. This makes for higher precision while printing. Besides, the machine employs expanded polymers for efficient thermo-acoustic insulation.
The Industrial X can be equipped with two different extruder kits. In case you want to print with high-temperature and engineering plastics, you can use the WASP ZEN X Extruder that features a dual extruder for single material and lets you employ multi-color or multi-material printing. On the other hand, you can use the FLEX Extruder to print with 2.85 mm flexible plastics down to shore 50A.
Its suspended Bowden mechanism makes the driving system lighter while improving the overall print speed and quality. There are also the Resurrection and Free Zeta systems that let you recover a print when the power goes off. The Wi-Fi connectivity option along with the on-board camera allows for remote control and real-time monitoring of the printing status makes this 3D printer a really accessible one. It can also display video tutorials in case you found yourself in a pickle. Remote intervention by WASP operators is also available.
The Delta WASP 2040 Industrial X lets you produce cost-effective patient-fit products for medical applications. For example, they have been used to produce some orthopedics corsets. Look at the picture below. The model is smooth and perfectly shaped.
They can also be used to 3D print large-format amazing sculptures. The picture below shows SIKKA, a design project based on the combination of textiles and 3D printing.
The Delta WASP 2040 Industrial X is an FDM 3D printer that can print layers at 50 microns within a build area of Ø200 x 400mm. It features a maximum print speed of 300 mm/s and a maximum travel speed of 500 mm/s with an acceleration of 10,000 mm/s2. This way you can produce parts with smooth exterior surfaces in short times.

The Delta WASP 2040 Industrial X can print with third-party 1.75 and 2.85 mm filaments, providing you with a wide material choice.
The build area is Ø 7.9 x 15.7 inches (Ø 200 x 400 mm). It lets you print small-to-medium accurate parts in one go. Larger models can be printed in parts and then assembled using acetone (for ABS) or glue (for PLA).
The printer is controlled via the built-in TFT touch screen.
3D models can be printed from a computer via a USB stick or over Wi-Fi.
The printer software with Octoprint interface runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It works with 3D models in STL, OBJ, and G-Code formats. The printing models can be generated using the most common 3D slicing software, including Cura, Slic3r, and Simplify3D.
