The Typhoon from Dyze Design is a large-scale high-flow filament extruder specially designed for industrial machines. Being an all-in-one toolhead, it boasts rapid and cost-effective production of uniform and accurate parts. The device combines outstanding output capabilities with verified extruding technologies enabling it to print with all kinds of advanced materials, from general purpose ones to professional engineering filaments.

The extruder comes with an efficient dual heating system for precise temperature control, which guarantees quality printing with materials requiring constant temperature throughout the process. Due to the sophisticated class A PT100 sensors, the circuit can assure the best resolution at temperatures of up to 500 °C. As a bonus, the Typhoon is fully compatible with your standard firmware that greatly simplifies its use.

Print quality

The Dyze Typhoon is a professional-grade high-flow extruder that provides output of up to 200 mm³/s (0.9 kg/h). With the available heatcore sizes from 0.6 to 2.5 mm, you can produce parts with high resolution, smooth exterior surfaces, complex geometry, and detailed composition at exceptionally high speed. The integrated NEMA23 motor can easily handle fast and even flow at genuinely impressive speeds.

With the quad pinch system, the printed filament gets a four-point contact and extremely strong grip, which makes for steady printing with no slipping issues. This mechanism allows the extruder to work with any filament type, including soft and flexible ones.

The Typhoon extruder features a precise temperature control system with a dual heat zone, which ensures uniform temperature of the polymer printed. First, the cold filament is melted in the top section. Then, the bottom zone heater enables an even flow at a carefully selected constant temperature.

The newly designed transition tube made from titanium with low thermal conductivity and great rigidity adds to the overall quality of manufacturing with the Typhoon.

The state-of-the-art structure solutions make the Typhoon ready for work in any environmental conditions. Constant temperature of the system throughout the whole printing process is also maintained due to the water-cooling loop. With an extra heat shield, the device can handle external temperatures of up to 100 °C.

The all-metal aluminum frame is thoughtfully designed to withstand high stresses in tough conditions. With the gears crafted from alloys steel that are additionally heat-treated, the device guarantees long service life and top-quality operation. Each gear is mounted on strong ball bearings, which greatly reduces friction losses, resulting in an increasingly smooth printing process.

Materials

The Dyze Typhoon is capable of working with any type of 2.85 mm plastic filament currently available on the market, which means it can print with a wide range of standard, flexible, support, advanced, and engineering materials designed to satisfy all your manufacturing needs. Furthermore, the device is compatible with wood, carbon fiber, and metal powder filled plastics.

Thanks to the abrasive-resistant steel nozzle, the nozzle size and height remain unaffected during long print sessions with abrasive filaments.

The extruder offers an extremely easy filament swap procedure. Due to a single lever moving all driving mechanisms at once, filament switching takes just a few seconds.

Look and feel

The Dyze Typhoon filament extruder is available in a steel body with black trimmings. Its stylish look makes it ideal for professional and industrial applications. 

The extruder’s full height is 224 mm (8.8 in). It weighs approximately 1.8 kg (4 lb).
