The Flashforge AD1 is an FDM 3D printer designed specifically for the advertising industry. The machine creates channel letters, logos, and advertising signs for both outdoor and indoor use. Featuring a large build volume, the AD1 is capable of printing large flat parts or several smaller models at a time, allowing considerable time-saving compared to conventional methods of channel letter fabrication.
The printer features an open-frame design and comes fully assembled. Its single-nozzle extruder is equipped with two filament feeding channels allowing for the automatic switch between the filaments and creation of dual-color models with various color-changing patterns. Due to the heated print bed, the parts show good first layer adhesion and dimensional accuracy regardless of their geometrical complexity. The print bed is divided into four areas that can heat independently, thus providing energy saving. To ensure smooth and continuous workflow, the printer is equipped with intellectual features, such as print resume function and filament runout detection. Fast print speed, the dedicated versatile FlashAD software, and cloud printing support allow for professional use of the Flashforge AD1 in channel letter mass production with significant time and cost reduction as well as material saving.
The Flashforge AD1 can print layers with a minimum height of 100 microns, which is enough for printing advertising signs. With the help of the FlashAD software, the user can easily create numerous complex dual-color designs that can be accurately printed and then assembled quickly and easily.

The AD1 nozzle can heat up to 260 °C, which allows printing with such consumer-grade thermoplastics as PLA, ABS, or PETG. For outdoor use, the manufacturer recommends weather and corrosion-resistant AD PLA filaments specially designed for channel letter manufacturing.
The 600 x 600 mm build area of the Flashforge AD1 is ideal for printing large advertising signs, and the Z-axis height of only 70 mm allows saving space yet being enough for the machine’s specific printing tasks.
The AD1 is operated via a 4.5" touchscreen in the right front corner of the frame, with a clear and well-organized UI. You can transfer print files to the device via a USB stick and then upload them into the internal memory. The Flashforge AD1 supports FlashCloud service, allowing for the remote operation of several printers, quick file transfer, and monitoring of the printing process.
The printer comes with the proprietary FlashAD software, designed specifically for the AD1. Apart from the common slicing software functions, the FlashAD provides numerous specific features, such as selecting color patterns, wall shapes and thickness, creating different effects, or making leads for wire connection. The FlashAD is compatible with 2D vector graphic software file formats, so you can use CorelDraw, for example, to design your models.
