The Intamsys ABS+ is an engineering-grade filament designed by the Intamsys company specifically for FDM printing as an advanced version of ABS. ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is one of the most popular 3D printing polymers due to its superior print quality, moderate printing conditions, and affordable price. Compared to the regular ABS, ABS+ features compatibility with water-soluble supports, such as SP3030, and is generally easier to print.
Used primarily for industrial applications, the Intamsys ABS+ thermoplastic offers high tensile strength and impact resistance making for strong and thermally resistant parts with excellent dimensional stability and surface quality. It allows creating durable neatly-looking models that can withstand mechanical loads, moisture, and heat influence. Thus, ABS+ is a great material for prototyping and manufacturing of a wide range of end-use products, like household appliances, spare parts, tooling components, toys (e.g. LEGO bricks), and bicycle helmets. Like the traditional ABS, ABS+ can also be a perfect option for hobbyist printing.
The recommended extruder temperature for printing the Intamsys ABS+ filament is 245–265 °C, and the temperature of the heated bed is 90–105 °C. It is highly recommended to use a 3D printer with an enclosed build chamber to avoid shrinkage, and to turn on the cooling fans while printing.
The Intamsys ABS+ 1.75 mm filament is sold in 750 g spools. It comes vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
