The Intamsys PEEK-GF (polyetheretherketone) glass fiber-reinforced filament is an engineering high performance thermoplastic with exceptional mechanical and physical properties as well as high chemical resistance and electrical insulation. The parts printed with this material feature high dimensional stability and water-resistance. PEEK-GF shows incredible stiffness at very high temperatures with the heat deflection temperature of 315 °C. The semi-crystalline PEEK structure alongside reinforcing carbon fibers allow the Intamsys PEEK-GF to replace metal alloys in many applications, showing comparable strength and durability yet being more light-weight.
As a high temperature material the Intamsys PEEK-GF requires certain printing conditions including nozzle temperature of 380–410 °C, a 120–160 °C heated print bed, and a fully enclosed heated build chamber. The cooling fans should be turned off while printing with PEEK-GF to ensure uniform crystallization. For Intamsys FUNMAT high-temp 3D printers the manufacturer offers customized material profiles with optimal print settings.
The Intamsys PEEK-GF is widely used in a variety of industries, including but not limited to aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and semiconductor, where high quality and reliability of printed parts are extremely important. Due to its biocompatibility, the filament finds a use in healthcare industry for fabrication of various medical appliances.
The Intamsys PEEK-GF 1.75 mm glass fiber-reinforced filament is sold in 1 kg spools. It comes vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
