The Piocreat G5 Ultra is an industrial-grade 3D printer based on material extrusion. The machine employs FGF (fused granulate fabrication) technology, which is similar to FDM with the difference in the form of thermoplastics used. While FDM 3D printers utilize plastic filaments, which are normally made from granules, or pellets, FGF machines print directly with pellets, thus ensuring lower material cost, shorter lead times, and eco-friendly production. FGF 3D printers use a screw-type extrusion system, where the screw rotates and melts the pellets fed from the hopper. The molten plastic mass is extruded through a nozzle and forms layers of the future model.
The G5 Ultra model is equipped with a self-developed new generation high-temperature extruder, providing stable material flow up to 0.8 kg per hour and strong extrusion force without nozzle clogging. Due to impressive print speed of up to 260 mm/s and spacious build volume, the G5 Ultra is a great choice for a variety of industrial applications, such as architecture and design, mold production, industrial parts, fixtures, consumer goods manufacturing, and more.
The magnetic spring steel build platform of the G5 Ultra can be detached and bent for easy part removal. Automatic and auxiliary bed leveling provide strong first layer adhesion and prevent warping issues. Such features as remaining material visualization, pellet run-out detection, and print resume after a power outage make for stable performance and allow reducing downtime
The Piocreat G5 Ultra is capable of printing layers with a thickness of 0.2–1.0 mm.
The high-performance extruder with a new segmented structure can heat up to 420 °C, providing the user with a wide choice of compatible materials. It is equipped with interchangeable nozzles with a diameter of 0.4–2.0 mm (3.0 mm nozzle is optional). To ensure stable printing with ABS-type thermoplastics, the print bed can heat up to 120 °C.
To ensure smooth uninterrupted printing with consistent quality, the G5 Ultra model comes with a 3L hopper, ensuring a constant supply of material. Plus, you will never run out of pellets during a print job due to a thoughtful material level sensor that will notify users about the necessity to refill the hopper. The machine will resume printing from the exact point where it stopped once the pellets have been refilled.
The Piocreat G5 Ultra can print with a wide range of plastic pellets with a granule size of 2–5 mm. The list of compatible materials includes consumer and engineering thermoplastics, fiber-reinforced composites, and even some metals.
Apart from working with original consumables, the machine supports printing with recycled plastics such as pellets, flakes or regrind materials, making for innovative green production and circular economy.
Pellet printing provides the user with a possibility of rapid material change, allowing for the combination of different plastics in a single project. You can also change the material color during printing by adding color masterbatch to the pellets.
The G5 Ultra features a capacious build volume of 500 x 500 x 400 mm, which provides high versatility in printer’s applications. This lets one make a single huge model as a whole or simultaneously print multiple smaller ones, which is great for mass production.
The Piocreat G5 Ultra is operated via an LCD touchscreen with a clear multi-language menu, user-friendly interface, and sensitive touch control.
Data input can be performed via U disk and Wi-Fi. The G5 Ultra supports remote control of equipment within the LAN as well as real-time monitoring of printing status. This allows for a smooth and unlimited 3D printing experience with reliable data transmission.
In terms of slicing software, the G5 Ultra comes with the manufacturer’s proprietary program — Piocreat Slicer. It features all the necessary editing tools and supports STL, OBJ, and AMF file formats. Moreover, the machine is fully compatible with Cura and Simplify3D.
