The QIDI Tech X-PLUS 3 is the successor to the X-PLUS 3D printer from the latest lineup of QIDI machines. In many aspects, the device is similar to the more advanced X-MAX 3, with the difference in a slightly smaller build volume and the lack of a carbon air filter. The printer comes fully assembled and is quick and easy to set up and use. A bunch of useful features and impressive speed characteristics make it one of the best machines in its price range.
The enclosed build chamber of the X-PLUS 3 has an independent heater and can reach 65 °C, which reduces warping and delamination with high-temperature filaments. You can remove the transparent lid of the printer for faster part cooling when printing with low-temperature filaments, such as PLA.
The QIDI X-PLUS 3 uses a CoreXY structure which allows for extremely fast printing speeds of up to 600 mm/s and acceleration of 20000 mm/s². The Klipper firmware makes it possible to introduce the resonance compensation feature to reduce vibrations at high speeds. Another way to achieve faster and smoother movements is the use of carbon rods on the X-axis and a lightweight extruder, which allows reducing the weight of the printhead with the X-axis to only 600 g. The auto bed leveling function uses a capacitive sensor to probe the print bed in 16 points to ensure the build plate flatness and good print adhesion.
The QIDI Tech X-PLUS 3 is equipped with a powerful direct drive extruder with a 9.5:1 gear ratio and a maximum flow rate of 35 mm³/s. The hotend can reach 350 °C and provides a fast heat-up time and consistent extrusion. Apart from the default copper alloy nozzle for processing common filaments, the machine is supplied with a hardened steel nozzle for printing with abrasive materials.
A standard 0.4 mm nozzle can be replaced with optional 0.2, 0.6, or 0.8 mm nozzles. With a minimum layer height of 50 microns, the X-PLUS 3 produces accurate models with smooth surface finish. The print bed heats up to 120 °C and features a magnetic flexible build plate that ensures good adhesion and easy print removal.
Time: 1h 40min
Material: ABS-G
Due to its high-temp extruder and heated build chamber, the X-PLUS 3 can print with a wide range of consumer and engineering-grade thermoplastics, including Nylon, PC, fiber-reinforced composites, and others. The printer is compatible with both proprietary and third-party filaments.
The X-PLUS 3 is equipped with a pretty large build chamber of 280 x 280 x 270 mm, which is enough for printing sizable parts. For user convenience, the build chamber has integrated LED lights.
The X-PLUS 3 is controlled via a 5" color touchscreen with an intuitive user interface. The machine supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB connectivity.
Based on the popular Cura slicer, the QIDI Print software has normal and expert modes to provide maximum flexibility both for beginners and experienced users. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The printer is also compatible with Cura, Simplify3D, or PrusaSlicer.
