The Revopoint Miraco is a professional-grade standalone 3D scanner powered by a quad-camera infrared structured light projector. Engineered with onboard software that runs on the built-in CPU, it can freely operate, save and edit scan projects without any cables or connection with a computer. This makes Miraco a perfectly self-contained device able to support a wide range of personal and professional scanning needs. At the same time, it is aimed at a tangibly user-friendly experience.

Miraco is available in three versions — Basic, Pro and Plus (check out the “Add-ons & Extras” menu). Apart from the amount of RAM, they differ in terms of the supply package (please refer to section “What’s in the box” to learn more). If you plan to scan particularly large objects, getting the Pro or Plus model is recommended, as it is able to deal with a higher number of frames due to the increased RAM capacity.

What is the difference between MIRACO/Pro and MIRACO Plus?
MIRACO Plus is 20% more accurate at 0.04 mm and around 33% faster, with speeds up to 20 fps, than MIRACO Pro. It also has 1.5x and 2x infrared optical zoom for enhanced detail capture. The most significant difference is the inclusion of the Photogrammetric Metrology Kit, which allows for high-resolution capture of small details on large objects while ensuring volumetric accuracy.

Featuring a flexible working distance, two scanning modes, and high-resolution RGB camera, the Revopoint Miraco is great for various purposes, capturing both monochrome and colorful objects of different sizes. The outstanding scan accuracy is achieved due to rapid data processing and precise tracking algorithms.

Providing an intuitive interface with simple controls, fast scanning speed, powerful onboard software, compact and lightweight design, fast Wi-Fi connectivity, and long-lasting battery, Miraco is a capable and easy-to-use 3D scanner that does not require an expensive PC to work with 3D data. Combining outstanding scan quality and accessibility, Miraco is well suited to the needs of both new and seasoned users.

With an astonishing range of capabilities and features that are not presented in other modern 3D scanners, Miraco from Revopoint will be useful for a variety of applications. The device allows one to scan a multitude of objects, from miniatures and functional parts to artifacts and full-size cars. It can serve as a cost-effective 3D digitization solution for use in many areas, such as:

  • Aerospace
  • Car customization
  • Industrial design
  • Art and design
  • 3D animation
  • Preservation and restoration
  • Scientific research
  • Healthcare
  • Education

To assess the capabilities of the Revopoint Miraco 3D scanner, take a look at these remarkably detailed renders captured by the device.

For example, this complex motorbike model demonstrates how the scanner works with large objects and shiny surfaces.

Scan accuracy

The Revopint Miraco is engineered with 9-axis IMU position sensors, 2 MP depth cameras, and a potent light source. This allows it to achieve 15 FPS scanning speed and a surgical accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. With a point-to-point distance of 0.02 mm, the device can reconstruct high-resolution geometric structures and capture fine details, easily handling scanning tasks for various professional spheres.

Being a powerful standalone scanner, Miraco is equipped with a 8-core 2.4 GHz CPU and 256 GB hard drive to effectively process and store captured 3D data. Amount of RAM differs depending on the version. For the basic one, it is 16 GB, which is enough for up to 5000 frames for non-color and up to 4000 frames for color scans. The Pro version comes with 32 GB RAM sufficient for up to 10000 frames for non-color and up to 8000 frames for color scans.

Due to the built-in 48 MP RGB camera, the Revopoint Miraco boasts 8K color capture, which makes it great for scanning objects with rich colors and delivering breathtaking photorealistic color textures.

With Miraco’s reliable tracking algorithms, it is possible to accurately capture full-body scans and body parts for design and healthcare applications in under 60 seconds. Plus, thanks to the scanner’s handy flip screen, one can do detailed self-face scans. The Class I infrared light source of the device is completely safe for the eyes.

As for individual cases of scanning transparent, dark, or highly reflective objects, the developer recommends using a special scanning spray to ensure best possible results.

Scanning modes specifics

The Revopoint Miraco provides two scanning modes — Single-shot and Continuous — that enable smooth 3D data acquisition for different applications. To achieve the best scan quality, it is important to understand the purpose of each mode.

Single-shot mode Continuous mode
Enabling single-frame capture, this mode makes it easier to progressively scan in hard-to-maneuver environments. This mode allows creating 3D models fast at up to 15 FPS scanning speeds for both small or big organic and geometric objects.
Features
  • Precise tracking
  • High accuracy
  • Minimal point cloud overlap
  • Up to 15 FPS scanning speeds
  • Near- and Far-mode scanning

Near-mode is great for capturing intricate details in specific areas or small objects, while Far-mode excels at quickly capturing entire objects.

One can smoothly switch mid-scan between capturing fine detail with a near-mode accuracy of up to 0.05 mm or capturing large areas with a far-mode accuracy of up to 0.3 mm.

Scan volume

The Revopoint Miraco comes with an effective quad-depth camera system, which makes for a flexible scanning range for rendering objects of different sizes, with the working distance standing at 100–1000 mm. The device can accurately capture small (10 x 10 x 10 mm) to large-sized (4000 x 4000 x 4000 mm) objects with a single capture range varying from 28 x 53 to 975 x 775 mm. Thus, Miraco can go from scanning a toy miniature to a real helicopter in seconds without a loss of precision and detail.

Scanner controls

To begin using the Revopoint Miraco, just turn it on and start scanning, no cables or PC needed. You can see your scans with outstanding clarity on Miraco’s 6" 2K AMOLED touch-sensitive screen.

Thanks to the thoughtful supply package, one can also mount the scanner on a dedicated tripod and use it with a turntable to capture small and finely detailed objects in a stationary mode with enhanced precision.

It is possible to connect Miraco to TVs and monitors through a USB-Type C to HDMI adapter or a DP port for convenient 3D model checks or presentations.

To ensure long scanning sessions of up to 2 hours and 50W fast charging (power up Miraco to 80% in only 35 mins), the scanner is equipped with an internal lithium battery boasting 5000 mAh capacity. It is covered under a 2-year warranty.

Software

The Revopoint Miraco comes with integrated software featuring a clear UI with intuitive controls. Ensuring rapid capturing and easy post-processing, it allows the user to perform fusion, meshing, and editing on the go, without transferring their projects to a PC.

Featuring USB Type-C and lightning-fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, Miraco can further export scans in the most common file formats, such as PLY, OBJ, and STL.

For advanced editing, one can use Revo Scan software on a PC. The program offers efficient post-processing and multi-model alignment functionalities, empowering users to effortlessly accomplish 3D modeling tasks. Plus, it does not require a powerful computer.

Minimum specs: Intel i5, 8 GB RAM.

Recommended specs: Intel i7, 16 GB RAM.

No discrete GPU like an Nvidia or AMD graphics card is needed.
