Scan accuracy

The Shining 3D OptimScan 5M Plus is a high-precision inspection 3D scanner that allows you to acquire metrology-grade accurate 3D data valuable for professional spheres of application. The device can achieve a scan accuracy of 0.005 mm and offers a point distance range from 0.04 to 0.16 mm. The 5M Plus model adopts two 5.0MP cameras for high resolution and scan quality, which lets you obtain accurate results at a consistent speed of ≤1.5 s.

The Shining 3D OptimScan 5M Plus is operated via computer. The scanner includes a USB 3.0 interface and supports multiple data formats like ASC, STL, OBJ, and others compatible with the mainstream 3D design software.

The 5M Plus model comes with the dedicated OptimScan software that will guide you through the whole scanning process, from calibration to 3D scanning and data editing. The program features a user-friendly interface in combination with intelligent algorithms that can effectively process and optimize scanning data. Due to AI data cleanup, the device provides outstanding results and improves work efficiency with the rapid scanning speed of less than 1.5 seconds for a single scan. To reduce alignment errors and get high-quality precise data, the system integrates the "one-click" automatic markers alignment module and the GREC global deviation control module. 

In addition, as a professional inspection solution, the OptimScan 5M Plus supports standard reverse engineering or 3D inspection software for further stages of your working process. The picture below illustrates the scanner’s workflow with third-party softwares.

For a reliable scanning experience, the OptimScan 5M Plus 3D scanner comes supplied with a sturdy tripod and a tripod head. With the tripod, turntable (not included), and OptimScan software, one can perform scanning in Fixed Scan and Auto Scan modes by choice.
