The Shining 3D FreeScan UE Pro2 is a wireless multifunctional laser 3D scanner. As an upgraded version of the original UE Pro model, it makes use of the high accuracy and ergonomic design of the predecessor and yet increases the level of detail and global precision control of large-scale workpiece scanning. Engineered with a potent computing module, the FreeScan UE Pro2 provides accelerated data capture and processing, while significantly reducing scanning time and computer workload.

The FreeScan UE Pro2 is equipped with a Class II, eye-safe laser technology composed of 50+7+1 blue laser lines operating in three different modes (High-speed scanning, Detailed scanning, and Deep Pockets scanning). However, one of its main features is an integrated photogrammetric module with increased volumetric accuracy. The scanner features a stunning scan speed of 3,460,000 points/s alongside a high frame rate of up to 180 FPS, which makes for smooth and rapid data acquisition.

The device features a clear interface and supports the most relevant inspection and design software. All this provides a shorter learning curve and streamlined working process. Scan accuracy

The Shining 3D Freescan UE Pro2 is a high-precision, metrology-grade 3D scanner that features an accuracy of 20 microns and a volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.03 mm/m (0.02 mm + 0.015 mm/m in the built-in photogrammetry mode). This contributes to consistent and reliable global accuracy and scanning results.

With two high-resolution cameras and 50 laser lines, the Freescan UE Pro2 performs rich feature object scanning and accurately captures fine details in a faster and more comprehensive way than the previous model.   

Boasting patented binocular photogrammetry technology, the UE Pro2 optimizes the spatial positioning of markers, ensuring consistent accuracy for large objects. This eliminates the usage of coded targets, reducing preparation time by at least half while maintaining the same high level of volumetric accuracy.

Scan volume

The Freescan UE Pro2 is able to capture an area of 600 x 550 mm. By moving the scanner over the object, you’ll be scanning fairly large parts at a consistent speed. The device features a stand-off distance of 300 mm and a depth of field of up to 680 mm.

Scanner controls

The FreeScan UE Pro2 includes integrated control buttons and a USB 3.0 interface. Easy-to-operate and user-friendly, it can process and export data to all mainstream 3D inspection and design software programs in a single click, increasing the workflow efficiency.

Software

The Shining 3D FreeScan UE Pro2 works with the proprietary FreeScan software which is an all-in-one solution for the whole scanning process. Starting with calibrating the scanner to advanced measurement options, this powerful yet intuitive program displays mesh data in real time, enables flexible resolution changes, allows one to create customized scanning templates, and much more.

The scanned data can be saved in OBJ, STL, PLY, P3, ASC, and 3MF file formats and directly imported into third-party software such as Geomagic Control X, Geomagic Design X, and Polyworks.
