The Mosquito Liquid by Slice Engineering is a modular all-metal hotend designed with advanced adaptability, precise temperature control, and ease of use in mind. In contrast to the standard, air-cooled Mosquito hotend, it is optimized for liquid cooling in heated enclosures. Its industry-leading thermal efficiency and reliable structure with patented features, such as effortless one-handed nozzle change, make the Mosquito Liquid a powerful solution against heat creep issues, such as jamming, poor heat control, etc. It is available with or without liquid fittings that can be selected in the Add-ons and Extras menu.

Alongside enhanced 3D printing precision, various mount options, and improved noise reduction, the Mosquito Liquid hotend features advanced high-temperature capacity with heating up to 500 °C. This covers a full scope of currently available thermoplastics, including PEEK, Ultem (PEI), ASA, PC, Nylon, and more.

Generally, the Mosquito Liquid hotend is compatible with RepRap style nozzles which are characterized by their M6 x 1.0 threads, 7 mm threaded length, and 12.5 mm overall length.

Both Mosquito and Copperhead hotend series from Slice Engineering share the manufacturer’s proprietary Bimetallic Heat Break technology that implies efficient heat conduction and diffusion. As such, they are designed for high-performance applications due to the ability to effectively eliminate heat creep.

However, they are different in all other aspects. The Copperhead is a budget-friendly, traditional-style hotend aimed at improved quality of high-temperature 3D printing. As for the Mosquito devices, they boast innovative design with a protective roll cage around 85% thermally efficient heat break making for cold, one handed nozzle changes. Despite their differences, both options provide better printing experience, so one can choose any depending on their needs.

Optimized for liquid cooling 

The main advantage of the Mosquito Liquid hotend is its remarkable performance in heated enclosures. The liquid cooling block is precision machined out of a corrosion-resistant bronze alloy that allows for efficient use with most commercially available coolants.

Reliable against heat creep

Similar to the standard version, the Mosquito Liquid makes use of the manufacturer’s innovative technology — Bimetallic Heat Break. It involves the application of the lightweight, adaptable heat break produced from ultrathin, cold-worked stainless steel surgical tubing and sheathed in hardened copper alloy. Thus, the Mosquito Liquid conducts 85% less heat than a standard threaded heat break, which allows it to effectively prevent heat creep, reduce jamming, and improve printing resolution.

Compact and lightweight design

Due to a compact, reasonably organized structure and low mass, the Mosquito Liquid provides more vertical build volume and maximum X-Y acceleration compared to other hotends.
