Tiertime UP600D 3D Printer

The Tiertime UP600D is a dual-extrusion version of the Tiertime UP600 large-scale 3D printer from a well-known Chinese manufacturer. Featuring the same industrial-size build volume, the UP600D is equipped with a proprietary dual extruder, capable of multi-material printing via a single nozzle. The machine can also print with a single extruder, the LT version for printing PLA, TPU, and other low-temperature materials comes with the printer.

Except for its dual-extrusion technology, other characteristics of the machine are identical to the UP600. For consistent printing results with ABS-type filaments, the UP600D sports a fully enclosed heated build chamber and a heated filament compartment to keep the material dry while printing. The removable flexible build plate ensures easy part removal, and semi automatic print bed calibration makes for proper first layer adhesion, which is especially important when printing sizable models.

Among other smart features of the Tiertime UP600D there is a dual air filtration system with HEPA and activated carbon filters, a filament sensor, and pause printing function in case the door is open.

Print quality

The Tiertime UP600D can print layers with a minimum height of 100 microns. Considering the large build volume, this allows printing accurate models with a smooth surface and a lot of details. The printer allows for adjustable layer height in a single model, giving the opportunity to shorten overall print time by printing thinner layers only in the areas where a lot of details are required. With the dual extruder, the user can create support structures with water-soluble materials, which can be easily removed after printing, leaving no trace on the part surface.

Materials

The Tiertime UP600D can print with a wide range of proprietary and third-party filaments. The use of different extruders and various nozzle sizes ensures the best printing results with any material. Available nozzle sizes for a single extruder vary from 0.4 to 1.0 mm. For the dual extruder you can use only 0.4 and 0.6 mm nozzles.

Build volume

A spacious build volume of 400 x 500 x 600 mm allows for industrial printing of large models both for prototyping and end-use parts manufacturing. The machine can be successfully used for printing batches of smaller objects in one go.

Printer controls and software

The Tiertime UP600D is operated via a 7" color LCD touchscreen with a simple, user-friendly interface. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB. When sharing the same network, multiple users can connect to the printer and send printing tasks due to the Tiertime Print Queue function.

The machine is recommended to be used with the dedicated UP Studio software, offering a large number of model editing tools and allowing the user to adjust multiple printing parameters. UP Studio supports dual-material printing and features a powerful material profile manager.
