The Ultimaker 2+ is an FDM 3D printer aimed at prosumers. It is an enhanced version of the Ultimaker 2. It comes with a rock-solid structure that ensures great printing stability. It supports interchangeable nozzles, providing a wide range of layer resolutions (from 600 to 20 microns). Also, it comes stock with 4 different nozzle diameters for more design flexibility right out-of-the-box.
Ultimaker 2+ includes a simplified material feeder that allows replacing the filament with ease. It features a heated print bed and open filament system for wider material compatibility. Reliable and precise, the printer produces good quality, consistent prints suitable for both prototyping and small-scale manufacturing. It is a good choice for makers and professional users alike. Fashion designers widely use this printer to give life to their concepts, just like in the case of this collar. As you can see, the 3D pattern has been printed using an Ultimaker 2+, a convenient way to check and present a project without breaking the bank.
This good quality Captain America’s Shield shows a good level of detail and polished finishing. It was printed with PLA at 60-micron layer height.

The Ultimaker 2+ can print at 20 microns, producing excellent bridging and overhangs while delivering capillary details. The swappable nozzles give you the possibility to focus on details or speed as needed.

The Ultimaker 2+ comes with four easy-swappable nozzles. It gives you the possibility to choose between 0.8, 0.6, 0.4, and 0.25 mm in diameter. Depending on your project requirements, you might go for a larger nozzle for faster prints or a smaller one for a higher level of detail.
The nozzles feature redesigned fan caps developed to perfectly aim the airflow below the nozzle and equally from the sides.
The following elements are parts of the EEZYbotARM MK3, a 3D printable robotic arm. They needed to be dimensionally accurate and extremely precise to properly fit together. In that case, a smaller nozzle was the right pick. The models took 31.25 hours of continuous printing, but they totally worth it.
The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer.
Ultimaker 2+ prints with PLA, ABS, CPE, CPE+, PC, Nylon, TPU 95A, and other materials.
Unlike many other FDM printers, the Ultimaker 2+ has a heated print bed and a closed print chamber, which means it can reliably print with ABS-type materials.
Still, the Ultimaker 2 plus prints with any 2.85 mm filament, providing you with a wide choice of materials.
The build area of 223 x 223 x 205 mm lets you print a wide range of objects, even an interlocking lightsaber printed at 0.15 mm layer height with PLA.

The printer is controlled via PC or the built-in LCD interface.
3D models can be printed from computer via Ethernet, USB cable or WIFI.
The printer is compatible with Cura software and works with 3D models in STL, OBJ, DAE, and AMF formats. The software is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.

Ultimaker 2+ is available in white color with transparent closing panels.
The printer dimensions are 357 × 342 × 388 mm. It weighs 25 lb (11.3 kg). The spool holder is mounted on the back of the printer.
The price of the Ultimaker 2+ is $2,750.00, which is reasonable considering its functionality.
