Due to its high performance, versatility, and usability, the L1 from Unitree Robotics can be deployed in the sphere of robot automation as well as household use. The implementation of the device paired with various mobile robots allows one to optimize and essentially improve the quality and safety of any working environment.
Featuring a large omnidirectional FOV of 360° x 90°, the Unitree L1 can quickly and accurately obtain the 3D structural information of the entire house, which facilitates the positioning and autonomous navigation of mobile robots. With its ultra-low blind area and the minimum detection distance as low as 0.05 m, it is extremely easy to realize close detection and recognition.
Through omnidirectional ultra-wide-angle non-repetitive scanning, the L1 4D LiDAR can obtain high-precision and high-density point cloud data, achieving a scan effect at the image level. In addition, it boasts efficient detection of highly transparent objects, such as glass, under complex lighting conditions, including both indoors and outdoors, which makes the device suitable for a wider range of applications.
Resistant to indoor ambient light and outdoor glare interference, the L1 is capable of achieving stable ranging and high accuracy map building under 100Klux outdoor light.
Thanks to a wide field of view, effective scanning distance, advanced perception, and smart operation, it is easy and convenient to manage the device, adjust and control operations of different complexity, and effectively upgrade the functionality of any working environment.
An advanced automotive-grade LiDAR generates a point cloud density of approximately 1.5 million points/s. At speeds of up to 200 km/h (55 m/s), the corresponding point cloud density is only 27,000 points/s when traveling 1 meter (in scenarios that involve personal safety). In contrast, small conventional mobile robots typically move at speeds far below 1 m/s. When equipped with the L1 4D LiDAR, the corresponding point cloud density when traveling 1 meter is comparable to that of an automotive-grade system. Therefore, the performance of the L1 LiDAR system is more than adequate for the needs of small and medium-sized mobile robot applications. It can also make for more diverse functions such as whole-house cleaning and organization.
Due to the remarkable point cloud density and high recognition capabilities, the L1 4D LiDAR system allows for efficient operation with mobile robots in a number of applications, including logistics and warehousing, intelligent distribution, smart factory, intelligent industry and agriculture, cleaning, and more.
There is a dedicated open-source SLAM (Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) solution for the Unitree L1 4D LiDAR that can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. You do not need to use other positioning sensors, only the device’s built-in IMU.
The Unitree 4D LiDAR L1 is available in black. Its stylish look and ergonomic design make it ideal for both personal and professional applications.
