The combination of a 10W diode laser with a wavelength of 455 nm and a 2W 1064 nm infrared laser greatly expands the range of compatible materials. With the F1, the user does not have to waste time on reassembling the laser head, as switching between the two laser sources is performed seamlessly in the XCS software. The industrial-grade galvo system allows for an incredible speed of 4000 mm/s, making the F1 one of the fastest laser engravers in the market.
With an accuracy of 0.00199 mm, the F1 can perform the finest engravings with an outstanding quality. The live preview function and the L-shaped retaining frame help precisely place the material and speed up the process, making the machine suitable for batch production. There are two live preview options, where you can see either a frame or a graphic outline of your design, shown with a blue laser beam that is not harmful to the eyes.
Compact size and weight of only 4.6 kg make the F1 a truly portable device, and handheld engraving allows using it not only on the desktop, but literally on the go, greatly enhancing engraving opportunities. The protective cover safely blocks harmful laser emission and can be set at any height. The built-in fan extracts smoke and fumes and can be supplemented with an optional desktop air purifier for extra protection.
Thanks to its dual laser source, the xTool F1 can process a wide variety of materials. With the 10W diode laser, the machine is capable of engraving on paper, wood, leather, MDF, stainless steel, some dark opaque acrylic, bamboo, fabric, dark glass, ceramic, jade, marble, shale, cement, brick, plated and painted metal. Besides engraving, the diode laser also allows cutting paper, leather, felt, MDF, wood, and acrylic. The machine can cut an 8-mm wood or a 5-mm acrylic plate. The 1064 nm infrared laser is ideal for engraving on plastics and metals, such as aluminum, stainless steel, gold, platinum, silver, and others, making the device an ideal choice for a jewelry engraving business.
The working area of the F1 is 100 x 100 mm, and the maximum height is 113 mm, which is suitable for engraving on small to medium objects, such as jewelry items, gift cards, key chains, card holders, and more. With an optional extension, operating like a pass-through slot, the working area can be enlarged up to 400 x 120 mm, allowing it to handle bigger items or process batches of small ones.
The xTool F1 is extremely user-friendly and easy to operate. It features both auto and manual focusing, the latter is set by rotation of the focus adjustment knob on the top right side of the machine. To enable the autofocus mode, the user needs to set the material thickness in the software, and the device will automatically adjust the laser head height.
Below the focus adjustment knob, there is a preview button, enabling the live preview function with one click.
The xTool F1 comes with the proprietary xTool Creative Space software compatible with Windows and macOS. It supports multiple file formats including SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG, and BMP and provides all the necessary tools for image design and editing as well as material parameters and machine control settings.
For more complicated projects, one can also use the LightBurn software which supports more file formats, such as AI, SVG, DXF, PDF, HPGL, and PLT for vector files and PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and GIF for raster images, and offers comprehensive design tools.
