Compatible materials

Thanks to its dual laser source, the xTool F1 Ultra can process a wide variety of materials. With the 20W fiber laser, the machine is capable of exceptional metal (stainless steel, aluminum, gold, silver, iron, platinum) and plastic engraving performance. The blue diode laser is great for working with the most common materials, such as wood, acrylic, leather, slate, glass, ceramic, etc.

Besides engraving, the F1 Ultra also allows embossing and even thin metal cutting. The machine can cut a 0.4mm brass, 0.3mm stainless steel and 0.2mm aluminum sheet with its 20W fiber laser. As for the 20W diode laser, it is powerful enough to cut wood up to 15mm and acrylic up to 12mm. In addition, both fiber and diode lasers of the F1 Ultra can do color engraving on metal faster than ever.

Since setting the materials to your desired engraving / cutting effect can be time consuming, xTool tested 400+ materials and built the world’s first material setting library (Material EasySet Library). Now, users can set a specific material through a click of the desired effect on the photo.

Working area

The working area of the xTool F1 Ultra F1 is 220 x 220 mm, which is suitable for engraving on small to medium objects, such as jewelry items, gift cards, key chains, card holders, and more. With an optional conveyor extension, the working area can be enlarged up to 220 x 500 mm, allowing the machine to handle bigger items or process batches of small ones in minutes due to the Auto Streamline feature.

Machine controls

The xTool F1 Ultra is extremely user-friendly and easy to operate from almost any device via Wi-Fi. It features both auto and manual focusing, the latter is set by rotation of the focus adjustment knob on the right side of the machine. To enable the autofocus mode, the user needs to set the material thickness in the software, and the device will automatically adjust the laser head height.

In addition, the F1 Ultra is equipped with a touchable control panel with a clear and intuitive user interface. It can store up to 7GB of project files and independently controls the F1 Ultra to engrave or cut when there is no Internet or PC.

Software

The xTool F1 Ultra comes with the proprietary xTool Creative Space software compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and iPadOS. It supports multiple file formats including SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG, and BMP and provides all the necessary tools for image design and editing as well as material parameters and machine control settings.

For more complicated projects, one can also use the LightBurn software which supports more file formats, such as AI, SVG, DXF, PDF, HPGL, and PLT for vector files and PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and GIF for raster images, and offers comprehensive design tools. LightBurn is a paid software but it offers a free trial period. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux.
