Zortrax M300 Dual is a Layer Plastic Deposition (LDP) desktop 3D printer with a large build area of 265 x 265 x 300 mm. It is powered by the LDP Plus dual-extrusion technology with a Dissolvable Support Structures system. Despite its desktop sizes, it is capable of producing industrial-grade printing results.
The Zortrax M300 Dual works as both a single- or dual-extrusion 3D printer. It comes stock with either a perforated and a glass heated bed. This grants optimum adhesion with a variety of printing materials. In addition, it supports third-party materials for wider design flexibility. It features an auto-bed leveling system that relies on a Capacitive Displacement Sensor (CDS) for accurate calibration. A blackout response system prevents printing failures automatically saving the data and pausing the print when the power goes off. Additional smart features, including the filament detection system and the integrated live-view camera, allow for unattended, continuous printing free from human errors.
The printer offers a plethora of connectivity choices (Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet). The Wi-Fi module lets you connect multiple printers into a large manufacturing cluster. Continue reading our full review.
The dual-extrusion technology allows producing intricate geometries with the aid of water-soluble support structures. After printing your 3D model, you’ll only need to rinse it to get a ready-to-use functional part, just like the ones pictured below.
For example, this functional power tool handle shows clean surfaces and dimensionally accurate cavities just after rinsing.
These human lumbar vertebrae could not have been printed without support structures.
The Zortrax M300 Dual is an FDM dual-extrusion 3D printer that can print layers at 150 microns with a minimum wall thickness of 400 microns. The surface finish is not as smooth as you get with the more expensive printers, but is more than enough for prototyping and design proofing. The advanced filament control and power-off recovery system increase the success print rate reducing printing failures caused by power outages, nozzle clogging, filament jamming, and more.
The Zortrax M300 Dual comes stock with two nozzles of 0.4mm. It gives you the best balance between speed and detail.
The print head runs on rods with linear bearings, making the design more simple, lightweight and effective, all characteristics that are desirable in a 3D printer.
Zortrax M300 Dual prints with ABS, HIPS, PETG, PLA, Nylon and other materials. When printing in single-extrusion mode, the company suggests printing with the proprietary Z-NYLON, Z-ULTRAT, Z-PETG, Z-GLASS, and Z-PLA. For the dual-extrusion mode, you might go for the Z-PETG, Z-PLA, Z-ULTRAT PLUS, Z-SUPPORT PREMIUM.
The extruder comes with a double hotend and a fan for printing with PLA-type materials. By cooling the model down, it reduces warping, stringing and, generally, makes for higher quality prints.
Unlike many FDM printers, the Zortrax M300 Dual has a heated print bed and closed print chamber, which means it can reliably print with ABS-type materials. The print bed perforation is ideal for the purpose, holding the ABS model to the plate.
The Zortrax M300 Dual prints with 1.75 mm filament. It is compatible with third-party materials, providing you with a wide choice of materials. The company also provides proprietary filaments for top-notch printing results.
The build area of 10.4 x 10.4 x 11.8 inches (265 x 265 x 300 mm) lets you print large parts in one go.
The printer is controlled via the integrated 4-inch IPS touchscreen. The intuitive UI lets you preview 3D models on the touchscreen in real-time. It gives you full control over the printing settings and supports ongoing updates for constant improvements.
3D models can be printed from a computer via USB, Ethernet or over Wi-Fi. The on-board camera lets you constantly check the printing status.
The printer comes bundled with Z-SUITE 2, the proprietary slicing software. It works both as a slicer and a 3D printing farm management tool. It includes some thoughtful functionality for a seamless 3D printing experience. It supports raft-free 3D printing and includes a rotation optimization tool and a replication option for batch printings. Still, it detects thin walls to prevent printing failures.

Zortrax M300 Dual is available in black color. Its stylish look makes it ideal for both home and professional use.
The printer dimensions are 18.6 x 22.4 x 26.1 inches (473 x 570 x 665 mm). It weighs 59.5 lb (27 kg). The spool holder is mounted on the back of the printer.
The price of the Zortrax M300 Dual is $4,490.00, which is reasonable considering its functionality and efficient technology.
