Overview

At the end of 2020, Shining 3D announced a heavily upgraded version of its popular Einscan Pro 2X 3D scanner — the Shining Einscan Pro 2X 2020. Due to the applied improvements, the device now boasts increased scanning speed and accuracy, but the most important changes were made to the HD capabilities of the Einscan Pro 2X.

Here is the list of the main differences between the previous and upgraded version:

  • A new way of operation in the HD mode enabling scanning without markers (not available for the original Pro 2X);
  • Improved scan quality and level of detail;

  • Increased HD scan accuracy: from 0.05 mm for the Pro 2X to 0.045 mm with the Einscan Pro 2X 2020;
  • Up to 10 FPS and 3,000,000 points/s in the HD mode;
  • Scan volume was also increased from 135 x 100 — 225 x 170 mm to 150 x 120 — 250 x 200 mm;
  • Three alignment modes are now available: Marker Alignment, Feature Alignment, and Hybrid Alignment, while the Pro 2X only offered Marker Alignment. This provides more alignment options and increased accuracy for manual scanning without the use of markers.
