Builder products

The current lineup of Builder 3D printers is called Extreme Pro, and it comprises five models: 1000, 1500, 2000, and 3000, with the 1500 coming in two modifications — as a basic version and a model with an actively heated chamber.

Differing in terms of dimensions and spheres of applications, all the models allow manufacturing extremely large parts with reduced product development time in mind. Considering that, Builder 3D printers are perfect for large-scale prototyping, design proofing, molding, tooling, low-volume production, or even making functional parts.

Highlights

Let’s look at the most prominent features of Builder 3D printers.

Massive build volume

One of the main peculiarities of the brand is the large scale, which lets the users print impressive products without slicing the model in several parts. This allows producing smoother yet more resistant objects.

All Builder Extreme Pro 3D printers feature an enclosed chamber and a heated print bed for reliable printing with ABS and temperature-sensitive filaments. Plus, their aluminum body is quite solid and stable.

Dual-feed extrusion system

Another key component of the equipment is a proprietary extruder for printing two materials with a single nozzle.

The version of the 1500 printer with an active thermal chamber is equipped with a single-material extruder. Buyers of the 2000 model can opt for either a single- or a dual-material modification.

The unique design of the print head allows using the filament from two spools at once, to quickly switch between materials through retraction, and print with a molten mixture of two plastics with a change in the content of one or the other consumable in real time.

Supported materials

The compatible range of consumables for Extreme Pro includes PLA, PET, PVA, Flex, and in-house developed analog of ABS.

The 1500 model with an actively heated chamber is also ready to print with nylon, ASA, and carbon fiber-reinforced nylon.

Controls and software

Extreme Pro 3D printers are equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, uninterruptible power supply, remote monitoring webcam, Wi-Fi module, filament sensors, and automatic calibration system.

The machines come with a fully customized version of Simplify3D — the developer recommends preparing digital models for printing namely with this software.

Bottom line

Taking into account their large print area, firm construction, semi-automated functionality, and such cutting-edge solutions as a self-developed dual-feed system, Builder 3D printers are ideal for a number of industrial applications, including small-scale manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and design proofing. With one of the Extreme Pro machines at hand, it is possible to effectively produce ready-to-use tools, functional parts, large prototypes, and architectural models.
